Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys beat Tekamah-Herman; Girls lose

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys Basketball Team topped Tekamah-Herman 71-29 on the road Friday night.

The Raiders led 20-11 after one. LVSS outscored the Tigers 22-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 42-15 lead into the locker room.

The Raiders won the 3rd quarter 19-10 to go up 61-25 at the end of three.

LVSS put up 10 points in the 4th quarter compared to 4 for Tekamah-Herman.

Jacob Polk led the way with 28 points while Ben Moxness registered 18. Conner Larson added 7.

The Raiders won about the way I thought they would.

LVSS (5-1) hosts DC West (4-3) Tuesday night in action that will be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Falcons won 56-28 at Omaha Christian Academy on Saturday.

DC West has won the games they were supposed to, but has struggled against the good teams on their schedule.

The Raiders are another good/great team on the Falcons' schedule, and I fully expect LVSS to come out and dominate from the opening tip.

Polk and Moxness had great games against the Tigers, and Larson stepped up and had a nice game as well.

Polk and Moxness are an unstoppable one-two punch, and the Raiders appear to be nearly impossible to beat when those two are on.

A win and a 6-1 record heading into the Holiday Break would be very good for LVSS.

The Raiders are having a very fine season, and I look for LVSS to continue their dominant ways against DC West Tuesday night.

It would be cool if Moxness threw down a dunk and got the crowd electrified.

The Raiders are definitely good enough to make state this year, and LVSS has to keep winning and dominating the way they have been.

The Raiders have to be relentless and as tough as nails like they have been all season.

LVSS is playing good basketball right now, and has to keep it up.

I'm looking for that game where the Raiders flat out dominate for 4 quarters.

LVSS kind of did that against Tekamah-Herman I feel, but probably could dominate a game even more than that.

The Raiders should pat themselves on the back for a job well done so far, but must keep grinding as well.

There's a long ways to go this season yet, and LVSS has to keep pushing themselves to get better and play even better basketball than they have so far.

As good as the Raiders have played this season, I feel LVSS's best basketball is ahead of them.

It has been a great season and a great ride for the Raiders so far, and I'm excited to see what they can do to close out the pre-Christmas Schedule.

Tuesday night's game will be heard on the Bull after the girls game, which coverage will start for around 6:00 p.m.

Last week, the Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls Basketball Team concluded things with a 47-30 loss at Tekamah-Herman.

LVSS struggled shooting all night and could not stay in the game as Tekamah-Herman pulled away late.

Ashley Peters led the scoring with 9 points, other scorers were Josie Kahlandt-5, Morgan Morgan-5, Valerie Uehling-4, Shaylin Daugherty-3, Sierra Beacom-3, Breanna Smith-1.

Tough pill to swallow for the Raiders. The Tigers are a team I feel LVSS could of definitely beat.

The Raiders (1-5) host DC West (2-5) Tuesday night in action that will be aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Falcons lost 42-33 at Omaha Christian Academy on Saturday.

DC West beat Tekamah-Herman 40-39 at home on Tuesday, December 5th.

Based on that score it appears LVSS would lose by 18, but not so fast my friend.

The Raiders are at home, and have played a tougher schedule, and have given some tough teams good and/or decent games.

If LVSS plays like they did against Twin River and gets the offense going some, they could very well win.

Scoring appears to be the biggest issue for the Raiders right now though.

LVSS's defense has been solid, but the Raiders need girls to put the ball in the hole more.

Peters, Morgan, Daugherty, and Kaylee Boyle have each been leading scorers at some point this season, now they all just need to get on the same page in the same game.

Instead of just having one of them contribute significantly, the Raiders need all of them to make a big impact in the same game.

At least have a couple in double digits and another close to double digits. That might be enough to get LVSS over the top and over the hump.

The Raiders have to keep things positive and keep believing. LVSS can definitely beat DC West, the girls just have to go out there with confidence and a strong belief that they can get the job done.

The Raiders have to play with some fire, passion, pride, tenacity, mental and physical toughness, and grit.

LVSS has to get fired, jacked, psyched, and pumped up for this one and has to be stoked.

This is the last game before the Holiday Break, and the Raiders have to make the most of their chance and opportunity before the 5-day moratorium hits.

LVSS would much rather head into the Break with a win than a loss I'm sure.

Tuesday night's game will be carried on the Bull with coverage beginning around 6:00 p.m.

Should be a fun and great one. I hope you will join us for the broadcast. It should be a very entertaining game between two teams very hungry for another win.
