The Pender Boys Basketball Team lost 67-58 at Oakland-Craig Friday night before winning 55-40 at Allen Monday night.

The Pendragons jumped out to a 13-9 lead on Oakland-Craig after one. The Knights outscored the Pendragons 22-13 in the 2nd quarter to take a 31-26 lead into the locker room.

Pender won the 3rd quarter 15-14 to make it a 45-41 game at the end of three in favor of Oakland-Craig.

The Knights outlasted the Pendragons 22-17 in the 4th quarter.

Sam Mailoux had a team-high 26 points and 16 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Jared Tyrell totaled 11 points while Chris Rutar registered 9 points and 7 rebounds. Tyler Nelson chipped in 8 points.

Pender led the Eagles 18-8 after one. The Pendragons won the 2nd quarter 11-7 to take a 29-15 lead into the locker room.

Pender outscored Allen 13-10 in the 3rd quarter to go up 42-25 at the end of three.

The Eagles put up 15 points in the 4th quarter compared to 13 for the Pendragons.

Mailoux registered 17 points and 15 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Tyler Nelson added 10 points while Jordan Springer recorded 9.

What a beast Mailoux has been. Pender is playing good basketball right now, in my opinion.

The Pendragons (2-2) host Clarkson/Leigh (0-5) Thursday night in a game that will be aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Patriots lost 64-22 at BRLD Friday night.

I look for Pender to win this game rather handily.

Clarkson/Leigh has had a tough season so far, and I feel the Pendragons are in a good position and are well equipped to win this one big.

Mailoux has to continue dominating for Pender the way he has lately, and Nelson, Springer, and Tyrell have to keep playing well too.

There's no doubt this Pendragon team is much improved from last year. I think this is the best team Pender has had in quite a while.

The Pendragons have a very winnable game against Stanton on Saturday, and I look for Pender to keep the ball rolling.

I think the Pendragons have a great chance to finish the week 3-0.

Pender just has to focus on slowing down Anthony Bruhn, Haden Held, Lance Paprocki, and others.

The Pendragons just have to play their game and come out and execute.

Pender has to be focused, determined, and ready to go full throttle for 4 quarters.

I wouldn't be surprised if this game was a running clock at some point in the 2nd half.

The Pendragons have to use this game as another chance to improve, grow, and get better.

Pender has some tougher games in the 2nd half of the season so I feel it's important for the Pendragons to play as well as possible right now to give themselves confidence and momentum for those games later on.

What a feel good story this basketball team is right now.

Pender is finally becoming the team I thought they would be the last couple of years.

The Pendragons are doing some nice things this season, and have to simply keep it up.

The sky is the limit for Pender as long as they keep working hard and progressing like they are capable of.

I feel the Pendragons' best basketball is still ahead of them despite this good play in the early season.

The game will be aired on the Bull after the girls game, which coverage will start for around 6:00 p.m.

The Pender Girls Basketball Team lost 55-48 at Oakland-Craig Friday night before beating Allen 61-19 on the road Monday night.

The Pendragons spurted out to a 15-10 lead on Oakland-Craig after one. The Knights won the 2nd quarter 15-10 to tie the game at 25 at halftime.

Oakland-Craig outscored Pender 20-7 in the 3rd quarter to go up 45-32 at the end of three.

The Pendragons registered 16 points in the 4th quarter compared to the Knights' 10.

Sarah Krueger had a team-high 15 points while Ashley Ostrand and Tymaree Krusemark totaled 10 apiece. Jessica Krueger added 7 rebounds.

Pender got out to a 20-3 lead on the Eagles at the end of one. The Pendragons outscored Allen 13-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-9 halftime lead.

Pender won the 3rd quarter 10-7 to go up 43-16 at the end of three.

The Pendragons notched 18 points in the 4th quarter and held the Eagles to 3.

Faith Morris had a game-high 19 points while Ostrand recorded 15. Sarah Krueger added 10 while Jessica Krueger notched 7 rebounds.

Tough loss for Pender on Friday, but I thought the Pendragons did a nice job bouncing back against Allen.

Pender (3-1) hosts Clarkson/Leigh (4-2) Thursday night in a game that will be aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Patriots won 42-31 at David City Tuesday night.

Clarkson/Leigh is a nice team, and is a sub-district opponent for the Pendragons.

These two teams could very well meet in the postseason so it's important for Pender to play well and get the upper hand if possible.

The Patriots have a lot of standout performers including Kaegan Held, Beth Wiese, Ashlynn Novtony, and others.

Clarkson/Leigh plays very strong defense and is an improving team offensively.

This should be a great game.

The Pendragons have to step up their game and play above and beyond what they have been already.

Pender is off to a nice start, and this would be the Pendragons' biggest win of the year if they could pick it up.

Pender has been very impressive so far this season, and I look for the Pendragons to continue their successful ways Thursday night.

This game can truly go either way, in my opinion.

The Patriots may be more athletic, but Pender is just good at the game of basketball.

Girls Basketball is a big deal at Pender, and so far the Pendragons are not disappointing.

With that said, this figures to be Pender's toughest test of the season so far.

As well as the Pendragons have played so far this season, they're going to need to play even better Thursday night to come away with the win.

I think a defensive game favors Clarkson/Leigh, but if Pender can get the scoring up into the mid 40's, 50's or 60's they should have a good chance to win.

The Pendragons can definitely win. Pender just has to believe in themselves and one another, and put forth a great effort.

Coverage will start around 6:00 p.m. on the Bull. Join Kent Aurich for the call of the game. Should be a great one.
