The Patriots (2-4) battle Arcadia/Loup City (4-3) in the first round of the Shelby-Rising City Holiday Tournament on Friday.

The Rebels lost 49-34 at home to St. Paul Friday night.

Arcadia/Loup City is a pretty strong and solid team this year.

Clarkson/Leigh is going to have their hands full I don't think there's any doubt about that.

It looks like Isaak Wiese has been playing lately so that's a good and promising sign for the Patriots.

It would be awesome if Clarkson/Leigh had Tommy McEvoy too, but the Patriots know they will be without him for the entire year.

Clarkson/Leigh has to get in the gym and shoot on their own and workout individually as much as possible during this moratorium period.

The Patriots can't just sit around and do nothing for five days, they need to stay loose and in game shape.

And it doesn't require a lot of work on Clarkson/Leigh's part, just some light shooting and running should do the trick.

The Patriots have to come out sharp and ready to play on Friday.

Clarkson/Leigh has to be efficient on the offensive end like they were against the Jaguars, and must play stingy defense.

The Rebels are a good defensive team, and so the Patriots have to match their defensive intensity and effort as well.

Clarkson/Leigh has to be committed to stopping Arcadia/Loup City and making a conscious effort to slow them down.

The Patriots have to make their lay ups and free throws and must limit turnovers as well.

Clarkson/Leigh also has to create turnovers and box out and rebound well also.

The Patriots can't be afraid to take charges, and have to up and raise their level of play on Friday.

Tip-off is set for 1:45 p.m. in Shelby.

Solid play from the Patriots in the last four games.

Clarkson/Leigh (4-3) battles Arcadia/Loup City (4-3) in the first round of the Shelby-Rising City Holiday Tournament on Friday.

The Rebels lost 61-37 at home to St. Paul Friday night.

I think Arcadia/Loup City is one of those teams who beats who they're supposed to, but falls to the juggernauts on their schedule.

The Patriots have kind of fared the same way this year, but I feel Clarkson/Leigh has been more dominant in their wins.

I look for the Patriots to win this one and advance to the championship.

I think the winner of this game will win the championship.

I feel Clarkson/Leigh has a good chance to win this tournament.

The girls need to stay active and must shoot and run around and play the game during this moratorium period though.

Sitting around and doing nothing for five days is not a good idea.

These girls need to stay in game shape and need to be fresh and ready to go on Friday.

The Patriots have a great chance to win this tournament and head into January with a 6-3 record.

I feel Clarkson/Leigh has played some good basketball as a whole so far this year, and look for the Patriots to play well again this weekend.

Clarkson/Leigh has to come out and play well and inspired from the start.

The Patriots have to play smart and must have heart.

Clarkson/Leigh has to play with tons of passion, pride, toughness, fire, grit, and tenacity.

The Patriots must take the fight to the Rebels for four quarters on Friday, and really get after things from start to finish.

Clarkson/Leigh has to come out and play suffocating defense while finding a way to manufacture points offensively.

I think getting to 50 points is the key for the Patriots. Clarkson/Leigh is 4-0 when scoring 50+ points and 0-3 when scoring under 50.

Tip-off is set for noon in Shelby.
