I really think GACC has improved with each and every game so far this season.
The Bluejays (2-2) host Crofton (1-1) on Saturday.
The Warriors won 71-45 at home over Boyd County Thursday night.
Crofton is a decent team, but I think GACC has a strong chance to pick up their 3rd win of the year and climb above .500.
The way the Bluejays have performed this year has been a complete turnaround from the last couple of years so far.
GACC is playing great basketball from an offensive standpoint so far.
The Bluejays are only getting better, and hopefully that's a sign of great things to come for GACC.
I feel this team has a chance to do some really special things this year if they continue on at this rate.
The season opener was a little tough for the Bluejays, but they have seemed to pick things up ever since that game.
Just to experience a couple of early season wins when GACC lost quite a bit the past couple of years is a big deal.
The Bluejays have to keep it up, and have to keep improving and getting better.
This is GACC's last game before Christmas break so the Bluejays have to make the most of it.
It would be a big deal for GACC to have a winning record heading into the Holiday Break.
The Bluejays can definitely do it too.
If GACC can cap off the week with a big win on Saturday and finish the week 3-0 I think that would give them a pretty good feeling heading into the Holidays.
The Bluejays should be awfully proud of what they have achieved and accomplished so far this year.
GACC has to keep pushing though, and has to keep the foot on the throttle and pedal to the metal.
One more game, one more win to finish off the pre-Christmas Holiday Schedule off the right way.
I look for the Bluejays to win on Saturday and be 3-2 heading into the Holiday Break.
The Bluejays have to come out and play with authority and aggression on Saturday, and must take it to the Warriors for four quarters.
The GACC Girls are 3-1 on the season so far, defeating Wisner-Pilger 61-11 at home in last Friday night's season opener aired on 107.9 the Bull before winning 55-38 at Lutheran High Northeast on Saturday. The Bluejays suffered a 46-41 setback at Columbus Scotus Tuesday night before winning 48-39 at Wynot Thursday night.
The Bluejays went up 16-3 after one on Wisner-Pilger, and outscored the Gators 18-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 34-5 lead into the locker room
GACC outscored Wisner-Pilger 13-1 in the 3rd quarter to go up 47-6 at the end of three.
The Bluejays won the 4th quarter 14-5.
Sophia Hass led the way with 12 points while Brenna Rief was also in double figures with 10. Brandi Doernemann posted 7.
The Eagles led GACC 13-10 at the end of one before the Bluejays won the 2nd quarter 19-13 to take a 29-26 lead into the locker room.
GACC won the 3rd quarter 8-7 to go up 37-33 at the end of three.
The Bluejays outscored LHNE 18-5 in the 4th quarter.
Hass had a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds while Rief poured in 14 points.
GACC led the Shamrocks 24-21 at halftime.
Scotus outscored the Bluejays 13-8 in the 3rd quarter to pull in front 34-32 at the end of three.
The Shamrocks won the 4th quarter 12-9.
Kate Gnad was the team's leading scorer with 13 points while Hass posted 11.
The Blue Devils got out to an 18-4 lead at the end of one. GACC outscored Wynot 17-5 in the 2nd quarter to make it a 23-21 game at halftime.
The Bluejays won the 3rd quarter 14-6 to pull in front 35-29 at the end of three.
GACC claimed the 4th quarter 13-10.
Rief had 19 points to lead the way while Hass and Marissa Hunke posted 13 and 10, respectively.
Pretty solid start to the season for the Bluejays.
GACC (3-1) plays host to Crofton (4-0) on Saturday.
The Warriors won 54-14 at home over Boyd County Thursday night.
Crofton has been their usual dominant selves so far this season.
The Bluejays are going to need to play a great game to come out on top, but they are definitely capable of doing so.
This is a huge game for GACC, and the Bluejays have to up and raise their level of play.
GACC has to get after things with pressure defense and transition offense.
The Bluejays need Hass, Rief, Hunke, Gnad, and Doernemann to all step up and score together.
These five players have done well at times this season with Hass and Rief the two most consistent, but if all of them are on then lookout for GACC.
I feel the Bluejays have played well at times offensively this season.
The defense has been there all season now it's matter of getting a little more dynamic offensively.
GACC has the girls capable of scoring at a high rate, and the five I mentioned above have the potential to score even more than they have already, in my opinion.
I think a big and high scoring output is what it's going to take to knock off the Warriors.
Crofton has scored over 50 points in every game so far this season so between the offense scoring a lot and the defense stifling and suffocating the Warriors, the Bluejays have to find a way to win.
This is a huge game for GACC, and the Bluejays have to step up their game and play well.
As well as GACC has played this season, they need to play even better on Saturday if they hope to beat Crofton.
The Bluejays are definitely capable of winning they just have to go out there and make it happen and get the job done.
This would be a huge win for GACC, and a great way to end the week and head into next week.
These next three games are huge for the Bluejays, and they have to find a way to win.
