Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys and Girls 1-2 in last three games

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys Basketball Team lost 31-29 at home to Twin River Friday night, and 70-32 at home to Wahoo on Saturday, before winning 46-41 at home over Columbus Lakeview Tuesday night.

The game with the Titans was tied at 9 after one before Twin River won the 2nd quarter 12-9 to build a 21-18 halftime advantage.

The Raiders outscored the Titans 11-10 in the 2nd half.

Riley Hoetfelker led the way with 11 points while Trystain Roseberry notched 7 rebounds.

The Warriors led 11-3 after one, and outscored LVSS 22-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-7 lead into the locker room.

Wahoo won the 3rd quarter 20-15 to extend their lead to 53-22 at the end of three.

The Warriors won the 4th quarter 17-10.

Hoetfelker paced the Raiders with 9 points.

The Vikings went up 14-9 after one before Logan View/Scribner-Snyder won the 2nd quarter 11-4 to go up 20-18 at halftime.

The Raiders outscored Lakeview 13-3 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 33-21 at the end of three.

The Vikings won the 4th quarter 20-13.

Roseberry had 17 points and 8 rebounds while Connor Larson totaled 16 points.

Nice bounce back win for LVSS on Tuesday after a couple of tough losses on Friday and Saturday.

The Raiders (3-2) host Tekamah-Herman (0-5) in High School Basketball on 107.9 the Bull Friday night.

The Tigers lost 80-22 at Yutan Tuesday night and 68-38 at Twin River on Saturday.

It has been tough sledding for Tekamah-Herman so far this season, but Logan View/Scribner-Snyder can't take the Tigers lightly.

The Raiders have to come out and play well and execute the way they did Tuesday night.

LVSS has to come out aggressive, and has to take it to Tekamah-Herman, and build a big lead and never look back.

This is one of those games where I could see the Raiders improving quite a bit.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder should be able to hone their skills in many areas against the Tigers.

This is a game the Raiders have to come out and take care of business in and put away early.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has a pair of games they are more than capable of winning before the Holiday Break so we'll see how the Raiders do Friday and then on Tuesday at DC West.

The Raiders need to play well against the Tigers to get ready for that contest with the Falcons.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder also can't be looking forward to that contest either.

The Raiders have to come out and play their game and play up to their capability and potential against Tekamah-Herman.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to be relaxed, focused, and ready to play.

The Raiders have to shoot at a high percentage, share the rock, make easy layups, get to the free throw line, and create steals to get into easy transition opportunities.

LVSS also has to box out and rebound well, and do the fundamental things necessary to win.

The Raiders are a good fundamentally sound basketball team, and I think that's their biggest strength this year.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder doesn't amaze you with flash and big plays, but they find ways to win.

I look for that to be the case again Friday night, though maybe by a larger margin than the Raiders have won by in any game so far this season.

The game will tip-off after the Girls game, which is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. in Scribner.

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls won 53-34 at home over Cedar Bluffs last Thursday night before losing 46-28 at home to Twin River Friday night, and 39-26 at home to Columbus Lakeview Tuesday night.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Raiders went on an 11-0 run to end the 1st quarter, and led 11-3 after one.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder won the 2nd quarter 12-8 to take a 23-11 lead into the locker room.

Cedar Bluffs went on a 9-4 run to start the 3rd quarter to close within 7, but the Raiders quickly pushed the lead back up to 11. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Head Coach Nick Hegge says that's a credit to his team's defense. "We just try to talk about defense and rebounding, and our shots weren't going in tonight, and we let that affect us too much on the defensive end of the floor. And Cedar Bluffs did an excellent job of just staying steady and keep getting back in the game. But when we pulled away we really turned it up with our defense. We got some deflections, got some steals, and then led to a couple of easy hoops, and knocked down a few free throws. Enough to get a win."

The Raiders wound up winning the quarter 16-15 to go up 39-26 at the end of three.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outscored the Wildcats 14-8 in the 4th quarter.

Valerie Uehling, who was named the CharterWest Bank Sportsmanship Award Winner, led the Raiders with 14 points. S&W Welding Player of the Game Shaylin Daugherty added 11. "Shay had a great night. She kind of saved us. And she's a Senior. And it's a game like tonight where it was our first win and we need your seniors to step up in those games, and Shay was ready to go," Hegge said.

Ashley Peters and Josie Kahlandt added 8 and 7 points, respectively, for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

Both teams got to the free throw line a lot, especially in the 1st half, but Cedar Bluffs was just 7-16 at the line through two quarters compared to 5-19 for the Raiders.

The Wildcats ended up 22-36 on the game for free throws while Logan View/Scribner-Snyder was 14-33.

Hegge says his team will take the win. "We got off to a little bit of a slow start. Probably wasn't our best game by any means, but we're happy with the win, and we had some kids step up, and get some big rebounds for us down at the end. And overall we did enough good things to win the game, but hopefully we'll see the ball go through the hoop a little more in the coming games."

The Titans led 12-8 at the end of one and outscored the Raiders 14-9 in the 2nd quarter to take a 26-17 lead into the locker room.

Twin River outscored LVSS 10-4 in the 3rd quarter to lead 36-21 at the end of three.

The Titans won the 4th quarter 10-7.

Uehling had 13 points while Daugherty added 18 rebounds.

The Vikings went up 12-2 after one and won the 2nd quarter 10-6 to go up 22-8 at halftime.

Lakeview won the 3rd quarter 8-6 to extend their lead to 30-14 at the end of three.

The Raiders won the 4th quarter 12-9.

Uehling had 8 points while Daugherty chipped in 10 rebounds.

A couple of tough losses from a scoring standpoint for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, but I think the Raiders have to feel good about where they're at defensively.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (1-4) hosts Tekamah-Herman (1-5) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Tigers are coming off a 52-20 loss at Yutan Tuesday night.

I think the Raiders have to feel pretty good about their chances of picking up a win.

Tekamah-Herman has struggled not only offensively, but defensively as well.

The fact the game is in Scribner also helps LVSS too I think.

I think the Raiders have a good chance to win their last two games before the Holiday break and head into the Christmas break at 3-4.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has a big opportunity in front of them Friday night and then again Tuesday night at DC West.

If the Raiders can keep up their defensive prowess and get the offense going I think two wins are a very high probability for LVSS.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to forget about what happened offensively against the Titans and Vikings, and focus on their defense and their offense from this point forward.

The Raiders have to come out ready to play defensively, and allow steals and turnovers to lead to easy scoring chances on offense.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to allow their defense to lead them to great and big things offensively.

The Raiders have to build off what they've done defensively so far, and let it dictate things for them from an offensive standpoint.

LVSS has to come out and play smart, but aggressive, and get off to a fast start Friday night.

If the Raiders can come out and build a lead and force the Tigers to play from behind they should be in good shape.

But if Logan View/Scribner-Snyder struggles offensively the way they did for a time against Cedar Bluffs then the game could be interesting.

I think the Raiders have a good chance to close out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule out strong, but LVSS has to perform at a high level.

Friday night's game is set to start at 6:30 p.m. in Scribner, and will be aired on the Bull.
