North Bend Central Boys 1-1 in last two games; Girls 1-2 in last three

The North Bend Central Boys Basketball Team is 1-1 in their last two games, blowing out Stanton 73-37 on the road last Tuesday night before falling 45-35 at Seward on Saturday.

The Tigers led the Mustangs 22-12 after one, and outscored Stanton 20-7 in the 2nd quarter to go up 42-19 at halftime.

North Bend Central won the 3rd quarter 17-10 to go up 59-29 at the end of three.

The Tigers won the 4th quarter 14-8.

The Bluejays led 7-5 after one and won the 2nd quarter 15-13 to take a 22-18 lead into the locker room.

Seward won the 3rd quarter 7-6 to go up 29-24 at the end of three.

The Bluejays outscored the Tigers 16-11 in the 4th quarter.

Great win for North Bend Central last Tuesday night. Going up against Class B Seward proved to be much more difficult though.

The Tigers (4-1) host Milford (4-2) Friday night.

The Eagles won 61-60 at home over Ashland-Greenwood on Saturday.

Milford is a good team, and has had some close losses to good teams, and some big wins as well.

North Bend Central definitely has their work cut out for them in this one, especially coming off the loss to the Bluejays.

But you know what...the Tigers are a pretty dang good and tough team themselves.

North Bend Central is at home, and it's the last game before the five-day Holiday Moratorium.

I fully expect the Tigers to come out firing on all cylinders and pistons, and be ready to finish the pre-Holiday portion of their schedule out strong.

It should be a tough and close game, but I look for North Bend Central to prevail.

The Tigers take on St. Paul at the North Bend Central Holiday Tournament on Friday, December 28th.

The game will be played after the girls game between the two schools, which is scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m.

North Bend Central has a huge opportunity in front of them on Friday as well as next week.

The Tigers will play either Omaha Concordia or Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family next Saturday depending how next Friday goes.

North Bend Central has to come out and perform strong and play well Friday night, and then be ready to comeback strong for the Holiday Tournament.

The Tigers have to shake off the loss to Seward, and regroup and regather themselves.

I'm sure North Bend Central isn't used to being shutdown offensively the way they were against the Bluejays, and so the Tigers have to take out their frustrations out on the Eagles Friday night.

North Bend Central has to come out strong from the start, and must jump out to an early lead on Milford and get after things on both ends of the floor.

Applying lots of pressure with the press and creating turnovers for easy transition opportunities will be big for the Tigers I feel.

North Bend Central needs a strong performance heading into Christmas.

The North Bend Central Girls lost 49-35 at Stanton last Tuesday night before winning 51-29 at Pender Friday night, and then falling 58-33 at Seward on Saturday.

Stanton led the Tigers 10-9 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 10-9 also to lead 20-18 at halftime.

The Mustangs outscored North Bend Central 10-3 in the 3rd quarter to go up 30-21 at the end of three.

Stanton won the 4th quarter 19-14.

The Tigers jumped on the Pendragons 16-5 after one. Pender won the 2nd quarter 13-11 to make it a 27-18 game at halftime.

North Bend Central outscored the Pendragons 24-11 in the second half.

Great performance from the Tigers against Pender in between two tough losses.

North Bend Central (3-3) takes on Raymond Central (2-4) on the road Thursday night.

The Mustangs lost 51-40 at home to Malcolm on Saturday.

The Tigers should win this one, but it figures to be difficult and perhaps tricky.

North Bend Central needs a performance like they got against the Pendragons.

The Tigers have Milford at home Friday night, and that game figures to be tough as well.

Looking at the Holiday Tournament next week, North Bend Central faces St. Paul at 6:00 p.m. next Friday at the North Bend Central Holiday Tournament.

The Tigers will either play Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family or Omaha Concordia next Saturday depending how things go next Friday.

The Wildcats are decent, but I think North Bend Central can definitely beat them.

The Tigers have some important games coming up and need to play well.

Gaining consistency in practice this week and finishing out the pre-Christmas schedule strong is going to be important for North Bend Central I feel.

If the Tigers could head into the Holidays with a 5-3 record I think they would be happy with that seeing as their last two games prior to Christmas would be wins.

North Bend Central has to put the Seward loss behind them and play the way they have in their wins.

The Tigers have to be focused heading into Thursday's game, and must turn in a stellar like performance.

North Bend Central needs to play well on Friday as well if they hope to pick up the win that night too.

The Tigers need to play their best basketball of the season this week leading up to the Holiday Tournament.

The Holiday Tournament field is pretty solid this year, but I think North Bend Central can at least get to the championship.

The Tigers just need to finish things out strong this week and be ready to go again when the five-day moratorium concludes.

Picking up a win on Thursday would be good to get things headed in the right direction for the rest of the week and the Holidays.
