The West Point-Beemer Boys Basketball Team lost 76-45 at North Bend Central last Thursday night before downing Howells-Dodge 58-43 in action heard on 107.9 the Bull Tuesday night.
The Tigers led 22-12 after one before both teams scored 11 points in the 2nd quarter to make it a 33-23 game at the break in favor of NBC.

Head Coach Cody Bobolz says his team picked things up in the second half. "We felt the first half they were really getting the lane on us too easy. We weren't stopping any dribble drive, and we weren't rotating very well. And we talked about mixing it up a little bit more, and just making sure we do our fundamentals defensively, and then offensively we just keep attacking. And we got some stops, it turned to us getting some run outs. And I thought our offense was a little bit more efficient."
Bobolz says he was pleased with his team's performance. "And the biggest thing is Howells really they do a good job of turning teams over. I felt like for the most part we didn't give them lay ups. And that was big for us tonight. So really proud of how we came out in that 3rd and really put it to them, and that was obviously a big difference."
West Point-Beemer (3-1) hosts Omaha Roncalli (2-1) Friday night.
The Crimson Pride won 61-42 at Fort Calhoun on Saturday.
I feel the Cadets can hang and compete with Roncalli.
This is a makeup game of a game that was supposed to be played on December 1st.
I think West Point-Beemer definitely has it in them to go out there and win.
I think it's better the Cadets are seeing the Crimson Pride now as opposed to when the game was originally scheduled.
Reason being West Point-Beemer has worked out some early season kinks, and I feel kids are more comfortable in their roles now than they would of been the second game of the season.
That and the Cadets are coming off a big win as opposed to a close overtime win over Arlington on opening night.
I've been impressed with this young West Point-Beemer team so far this season.
The Cadets are taking care of business against the teams they're supposed to beat, and take away the 4th quarter against the Tigers, and West Point-Beemer is right there.
The Cadets have to continue on the right track, and keep growing, improving, and getting better.
West Point-Beemer has to come into this game against Roncalli fearless and ready to go.
The Crimson Pride may be a good Class B team, but the Cadets have to take pride in the fact that Roncalli is coming to their house.
This game is a big opportunity for West Point-Beemer....a statement game if you may.
If the Cadets can win this one or at least make things close and interesting I think they could turn some heads around the state.
West Point-Beemer has done some nice things this year, but other than North Bend Central, this will be the Cadets' toughest test of the season.
West Point-Beemer is at home against the Crimson Pride while they were on the road against the Tigers so I think that will go a long ways and make a big difference as to how well the Cadets do and how well they compete.
The West Point-Beemer Girls won 46-37 at North Bend Central last Thursday night and 63-42 at home against Howells-Dodge Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.
The Cadets led 11-6 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 11-9 to take a 22-15 lead into the locker room.
West Point-Beemer outscored the Tigers 19-9 in the 3rd quarter to go up 41-24 at the end of three.
North Bend Central outscored the Cadets 13-5 in the 4th quarter.
Sidney Swanson led the way with 23 points.
West Point-Beemer doubled up the Jaguars 22-11 in the 1st quarter, and outscored them 21-9 in the 2nd quarter to take a 43-20 lead into the locker room.
Howells-Dodge won the 3rd and 4th quarters 11-10. The Cadets led 53-31 at the end of three.
Swanson had 22 points while Sierra Kile and Andrea Hoffman posted 13 and 11, respectively.
Head Coach Taylor Shepard 's team implemented a run and gun game plan. "We talked all week about how their biggest strength was in their post game, and we wanted to do as much as we could to try to limit that post game. So we talked about getting up, being aggressive and physical with the guards, and I think it paid off."
West Point-Beemer (4-0) hosts Omaha Roncalli (3-0) Friday night.
The Crimson Pride won 65-17 at Fort Calhoun on Saturday.
The game is a makeup of a game that was supposed to be played on December 1st.
I think the Cadets would have been fine playing against Roncalli at that time, and feel they're just as equipped to take them on now as they would have been then.
I think the game being played Friday might actually help the Crimson Pride a little, but I look for West Point-Beemer to go out there and do well and win.
Swanson has been incredible for the Cadets so far this season, and Kile has been great as well.
Hoffman's contributions have helped greatly also.
The whole team is doing well as a matter of fact, and this team is clicking and rolling right now.
West Point-Beemer has already taken down some good teams, and a win Friday night would be another big win for the Cadets without a doubt.
West Point-Beemer has a tough game at Fremont Bergan on Tuesday so these next two games are very critical for the Cadets.
If West Point-Beemer can get through these next two games I feel they will be undefeated heading into the Holiday Break.
The Cadets have played great defense, and their offense has shined as well.
West Point-Beemer has proven to be the complete team and package, and is playing amazing basketball right now.
This is one of the top teams in the East Husker Conference and area, if not in all of Class C-1.
I know it's early, but this Cadet team is playing real well and hitting on all cylinders at the moment.
We'll find out a lot about this team in the next two games as well, but West Point-Beemer has already shown they are a very fine team.
The Cadets have to keep pushing and can't be complacent or satisfied though.
West Point-Beemer has a long ways to go and a lot of goals left to accomplish and dreams make come true so the train can't stop now.
