The Wisner-Pilger Boys Basketball Team drubbed Tekamah-Herman 84-24 at home Friday night.
The Gators led 34-13 after one, and outscored the Tigers 24-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 58-19 lead into the locker room.
Wisner-Pilger outscored Tekamah-Herman 14-2 in the 3rd quarter to go up 72-21 at the end of three.
The Gators quadrupled up the Tigers 12-3 in the 4th quarter.
Dominant performance from Wisner-Pilger.
The Gators (2-1) take on Oakland-Craig (3-2) on the road Thursday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Knights won 79-60 at Howells-Dodge on Saturday.
Oakland-Craig appears to have picked things up following two losses to open up the season.
This should be a heck of a ball game that can go either way.
The battle down low between Jayden Raabe and Wyatt Seagren should be a good one, and there are some guard matchups that should be pretty darn good as well.
It should be a great game all the way around between the two teams.
I look for both teams to really get after it and play at a high level.
It should be one of those games where you hate to see someone lose.
The Gators will definitely be the more rested team so it will be interesting to see if Wisner-Pilger is fresher than Oakland-Craig come Thursday.
The game being at Oakland is a challenge for the Gators no doubt, but Wisner-Pilger can definitely go in there and win.
If the Knights play the way they did their last three games last week then they're going to be awfully difficult to beat, but if the Gators play the way they did against the Tigers Friday night then they're going to be a tough out as well.
It should be a great game, and I honestly wouldn't be shocked if it comes down to the final minutes or seconds, and even goes into overtime.
I look for both teams to really get after one another and play at a high level.
It should be a high scoring affair with lots of up tempo basketball on display.
I'm really excited to be calling my first Wisner-Pilger Basketball Games as a member of the KTIC Family.
I broadcasted the Gators a few times while working at KTCH in Wayne during college, but that has been a while ago.
The game will start after the girls game, which is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. on the Bull.
The Wisner-Pilger Girls picked up their first win of the season Friday night, defeating Tekamah-Herman 32-25 at home.
The Gators led 4-3 after one, and outscored the Tigers 9-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 13-5 lead into the locker room.
Wisner-Pilger doubled up Tekamah-Herman 10-5 in the 3rd quarter to go up 23-10 at the end of three.
The Tigers outscored the Gators 15-9 in the 4th quarter.
Slow start for Wisner-Pilger, but it's a win and I'm sure the Gators will take it.
Wisner-Pilger (1-2) takes on Oakland-Craig (4-0) on the road Thursday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Knights won 51-34 at Howells-Dodge on Saturday.
Oakland-Craig has been very good this year, and has been led by Dacey Nelson.
The Knights have been without Kennedy Benne though it appears so Oakland-Craig isn't even at full strength yet.
I look for the Gators to give the Knights their best shot, and play their hearts out and give it their all.
I look for Wisner-Pilger to play strong defense as well.
The Gators will need to play well offensively and hit some shots if they want to spring the upset though.
Wisner-Pilger can't be scared of or intimidated by Oakland-Craig at all.
The Gators have to get fired up and be aggressive, and take the ball hard to the basket.
Wisner-Pilger has to play loose and with nothing to lose.
The Gators can't be nervous or tight, they have to be loose and confident.
Hopefully some time off to practice and enjoy a win will help Wisner-Pilger heading into this game.
The Gators have to find positives that they can take away from this game, win or lose.
Wisner-Pilger has to put forth a great and fantastic effort no matter the outcome, and must keep fighting and battling hard no matter what.
The Gators have to take care of the ball and execute in the halfcourt offense, and also limit Oakland-Craig's transition opportunities.
Wisner-Pilger has to slow the game down, and play at their pace and not at the Knights' pace.
The Gators have to also get to the free throw line and convert from the charity stripe as well as make easy lay ups.
It should be a fun game to call, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. on the Bull with pregame beginning at 5:45 or so.
