North Bend Central Boys rout West Point-Beemer; Girls lose

The North Bend Central Boys Basketball Team used a big second half to propel themselves over West Point-Beemer at home Thursday night, 76-45.

The Tigers led 22-12 after one before both teams scored 11 points in the 2nd quarter to make it a 33-23 game at the break in favor of NBC.

North Bend Central won the 3rd quarter 18-15 to go up 51-38 at the end of three.

The Tigers outscored the Cadets 25-7 in the 4th quarter.

John Emanuel led the way with 22 points while Breckin Peters had 13. Tanner Wietfeld added 12 while Jaxon Wietfield had 11.

Very strong 4th quarter performance from North Bend Central. The Tigers jumped out to a lead and put the Cadets away, a very good sign.

North Bend Central (3-0) takes on Stanton (1-2) on the road Tuesday night.

The Mustangs lost 51-41 at home to West Point-Beemer on Tuesday.

The Tigers should be able to handle Stanton one would think.

The Mustangs are strong on the inside, and have a couple of big kids in Sam Bates and Nathan Arens.

I think the big thing for North Bend Central is to get out and run and spread the floor and attack.

The Tigers have to look to attack the basket and kick the ball out for good looks from 3.

North Bend Central has to create turnovers and steals as well as easy transition opportunities.

The Tigers have to come out and play up to their capability, and not let the Mustangs hang around.

North Bend Central has to start and finish the game similar to the way they did against West Point-Beemer on Thursday.

The Tigers have road games at Seward and Milford on Saturday and next Friday, respectively, and need to gear up and get ready for those.

A big win over Stanton on Tuesday would keep the momentum going for North Bend Central, and give them even more confidence and momentum than they have already.

The Tigers have to keep building and add on to the great run they are making and great season they are having.

North Bend Central has to get out there and establish a physical, fast paced style of game Tuesday night, and play at their pace and tempo.

The Tigers can't afford to let the Mustangs slow things down and play at a slow, half court pace.

North Bend Central has to play fast and above the rim, and force Stanton to play at their style and pace.

The Tigers have to build a lead and force the Mustangs to play from behind.

The more North Bend Central plays from ahead and the bigger lead they have, the better off they will be.

The Tigers should be able to win this one going away I would think as North Bend Central is a pretty special team.

The North Bend Central Girls lost 46-37 at home to West Point-Beemer Thursday night.

The Cadets led 11-6 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 11-9 to take a 22-15 lead into the locker room.

West Point-Beemer outscored the Tigers 19-9 in the 3rd quarter to go up 41-24 at the end of three.

North Bend Central outscored the Cadets 13-5 in the 4th quarter.

Tough first defeat for the Tigers, but give North Bend Central credit for not giving up and making things close.

The Tigers (2-1) take on Stanton (1-2) on the road Tuesday night.

The Mustangs lost 38-26 at home to West Point-Beemer Tuesday night.

This should be a good, competitive close ball game.

I think North Bend Central can definitely win, but it won't be easy given how experienced and veteran laden a team Stanton is.

The Mustangs are still a very good team despite their record, and the Tigers need to come out and play a great game.

North Bend Central has to play the way they did in the 4th quarter against the Cadets the entire time against Stanton if at all possible.

The Tigers have to play with a sense of urgency, and be ready to take it to the Mustangs for four quarters.

North Bend Central can't back down from Stanton whatsoever, and has to play great defense and manufacture points offensively.

This should be a great defensive battle, which makes things like making lay ups and free throws very important.

Points could definitely come at a premium in this one, and the first one to 30 could very well win.

The Tigers could definitely use a win Tuesday night with games against Pender and Seward coming up later this week.

Difficult and tricky week for North Bend Central to say the least, but I fully expect the Tigers to be ready to go each night.

North Bend Central has to build off what they've done in the early season during their wins, and what they did well against the Cadets in the loss.

The Tigers can't let the defeat to West Point-Beemer carry over to more losses and define them.

North Bend Central has to shake off the defeat to the Cadets and get ready to go at it again Tuesday night.

There are no night off in the East Husker Conference, and the Tigers have their work cut out for them this week.

I think North Bend Central can definitely hold their own and play well against all three teams though so we will see what happens.
