Howells-Dodge Boys and Girls 1-2 in last three games

The Howells-Dodge Boys lost 55-50 in OT at home to Battle Creek Thursday night before winning 60-32 at home over Madison in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament on Saturday. The Jaguars then fell 59-40 to BRLD at Oakland-Craig in the EHC Quarterfinals aired on 107.9 the Bull Tuesday night.

Howells-Dodge led the Braves 13-8 after one. Battle Creek outscored the Jaguars 13-5 in the 2nd quarter to take a 21-18 lead into the locker room.

The Braves won the 3rd quarter 12-11 to go up 33-29 at the end of three.

The Jaguars won the 4th quarter 14-10 to tie the game at 43 at the end of regulation.

Battle Creek outlasted Howells-Dodge 12-7 in the extra session.

The Jaguars went up 5-4 at the end of one on the Dragons. Howells-Dodge won the 2nd quarter 18-11 to take a 23-15 lead into the locker room.

The Jaguars outscored Madison 19-8 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 42-23 at the end of three.

Howells-Dodge doubled up the Dragons 18-9 in the 4th quarter.

The Wolverines jumped out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter.

Howells-Dodge was able to calm the storm in the second quarter, and held BRLD to just four points, while scoring 11 of their own. At halftime, BRLD’s lead was cut to 22-19.

The game stayed close in the third quarter, as BRLD led 37-30 after three.

But the Wolverines went off for 22 points in the fourth quarter, compared to 10 for H-D, and BRLD was able to pull away for the 59-40 win.

Blake Sindelar had 17 points for Howells-Dodge.

Tough go the second go around with the Wolverines.

Howells-Dodge (13-6) hosts Clarkson/Leigh (9-7) in an EHC Consolation game Friday night.

The Patriots fell 53-45 to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family in the Quarterfinals at North Bend Central Tuesday night.

The Jaguars beat Clarkson/Leigh 66-35 on the road on December 19th.

I feel this game will be much closer than that one was.

If Howells-Dodge plays the way they are capable of then I think they can win again.

But the Patriots are a much different team now than they were then, and will be really tough to beat again I'm afraid.

The Jaguars can definitely get the best of Clarkson/Leigh a second time, but I feel it will be much more difficult for Howells-Dodge to earn a victory this time around.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Howells.

Ratzlaff had 10 points for Howells-Dodge, including a pair of three pointers.

The Jaguars (10-10) battle Pender (14-6) in Leigh in an EHC Consolation Game Friday night.

The Pendragons fell 58-45 to West Point-Beemer in the other Quarterfinal at North Bend Monday night in action also aired on the Bull.

Pender beat Howells-Dodge 54-38 at home last Saturday.

This is a tough game and a tough draw for the Jaguars.

Howells-Dodge definitely has their work cut out for them there's no doubt about that.

The Jaguars have to go out there and play hard and leave it all out on the floor and give it all they got though.

Howells-Dodge has to play their game and let the rest take care of itself.

The Jaguars can't worry about what the Pendragons do, Howells-Dodge has to focus on themselves and controlling what they can control, which is their attitude and effort.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Leigh.
