Pender Boys and Girls 1-1 in last two games

The Pender Boys lost 69-41 at home to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Tuesday night before winning 60-38 at home over Winside Friday night.

Nice for the Pendragons to get another win against the Wildcats.

Pender (2-18) wraps up the regular season at BRLD (14-3) next Friday night.

The Wolverines won 44-41 at home over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Friday night in action that was aired on 107.9 the Bull.

BRLD is a top team and going into their house and beating them won't be easy.

The Pendragons need this game for postseason preparation though.

Pender will likely have to beat Humphrey St. Francis to get to a Sub-State Final.

The Sub-District appears to be a cakewalk for the Flyers, but perhaps the Pendragons will have something to say about that if the two teams meet up.

All Pender should do right now though is focus on playing, beating, and keeping things close with the Wolverines.

The Pender Girls won 68-44 over Howells-Dodge last Friday night in an East Husker Conference Tournament Consolation Game at Leigh before falling 69-67 in OT at GACC Tuesday night to conclude the regular season.

The Pendragons led 15-14 on the Jaguars after one. Pender outscored Howells-Dodge 13-3 in the 2nd quarter to take a 28-17 lead into the locker room.

Pender put up 24 points in the 3rd quarter compared to the Jaguars' 16 to extend their lead to 52-33 at the end of three.

The Pendragons won the 4th quarter 16-11.

The Pendragons jumped out to an 18-14 lead on the Bluejays at the end of one. GACC won the 2nd quarter 21-16 to take a 35-34 lead into the locker room.

Pender won the 3rd quarter 16-12 to pull back in front 50-47 at the end of three.

The Bluejays won the 4th quarter 12-9 to tie the game at 59 and send it into OT.

GACC outlasted the Pendragons 10-8 in the extra session.

Two really strong performances from Pender.

The Pendragons (15-7) battle Wakefield (13-11) Tuesday night in the C2-4 Sub-District Semifinals from Bancroft-Rosalie.

The Trojans lost 58-38 at Winnebago Tuesday night.

Pender beat Wakefield 54-53 in the season opener.

I would say the Pendragons are a much better team now than they were then.

I don't know if this game will be nearly as close and tight as that one was.

I fully anticipate the Sub-District Final being BRLD vs. Pender.

That would certainly be an intriguing matchup, but the Pendragons have to take care of business against Wakefield first.

The Trojans have really struggled down the stretch, losing their last handful of regular season games.

That would certainly lead me to believe that Pender will be able to win this one as long as they don't have an off game like they did against Wisner-Pilger.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Bancroft.
