Tri County Northeast Boys 1-1 in Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament; Girls lose to Bloomfield, finish Tournament 0-2

The Tri County Northeast Boys won 51-41 at home over Plainview in the first round of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament Monday night before falling 38-35 to Homer at Ponca in the Bottom 8 bracket Semifinals Thursday night.

The Wolfpack led the Pirates 12-11 at the end of one, and outscored Plainview 11-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 23-15 lead into the locker room.

The Pirates won the 3rd quarter 18-10 to tie the game at 33 at the end of three.

Tri County Northeast outscored Plainview 18-8 in the 4th quarter.

Kobe Kumm had 14 points while Steven Sullivan totaled 10 points and 7 rebounds. Nate Oswald added 9 points while Mason Hall and Anthony Isom notched 7 apiece.

The Wolfpack led the Knights 9-7 after one. Homer outscored Tri County Northeast 15-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 22-17 lead into the locker room.

Both teams scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter to make it a 30-25 game at the end of three in favor of Homer.

The Wolfpack won the 4th quarter 10-8 to make up the final score.

Reed Hingst finished with 11 points while Oswald posted 9.

Tri County Northeast (9-7) battles Ponca (8-10) in the 3rd place game at Homer Saturday night.

The Indians fell 52-45 to Hartington-Newcastle in the other Semifinal Thursday night.

The Wolfpack beat Ponca 48-36 at home earlier this season.

There's no doubt Tri County Northeast can beat the Indians again.

The Wolfpack just has to turn in a solid game and play good basketball.

Tri County Northeast has to play their game and not worry about anything else.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

The Tri County Northeast Girls lost 65-44 at Bloomfield Thursday night before losing 61-46 to Wakefield in the first round of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament at Wynot on Saturday before falling 55-47 to Creighton at home in a Consolation Game Tuesday night.

The Bees went up 14-4 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 18-13 to take a 32-17 lead into the locker room.

Bloomfield won the 3rd quarter 17-15 to go up 49-32 at the end of three.

The Bees won the 4th quarter 16-12.

Brynn Schock had 10 points while Rhyanne Mackling notched 9. Carly Dickens had 8 while Jordyn Carr posted 7.

The Trojans led 18-8 at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 13-9 to take a 31-17 lead into the locker room.

Wakefield outscored Tri County Northeast 23-16 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 54-33 at the end of three.

The Wolfpack won the 4th quarter 13-7.

Carr finished with a team-high 14 points while Dickens and Mackling notched 10 apiece. Schock pulled down 12 rebounds while Alli Jackson tallied 9.

The Bulldogs led 11-9 after one. Creighton won the 2nd quarter 15-14 to build a 26-23 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs outscored Tri County Northeast 10-3 to go up 36-26 at the end of three.

The Wolfpack won the 4th quarter 21-19.

Carr poured in 30 points and 7 rebounds while Mackling chipped in 8 points.

The 7th place game that Tri County Northeast would of played against either Plainview or Randolph was cancelled as those two teams did not play one another on Tuesday.

So it's on to Randolph in a battle of 6-11 teams in what is a home game for the Wolfpack come Tuesday night.

The Cardinals lost 60-33 to Winnebago in Saturday's first round at Ponca.

This game is a toss up if you ask me.

I give Tri County Northeast the advantage being at home, but it should be a nip and tuck game the entire way.

The Wolfpack could really use this win on Tuesday and a win on Thursday over Omaha Nation.

That would certainly be a good way to head into Sub-Districts.

Hopefully it happens for Tri County Northeast.
