North Bend Central Boys and Girls defeat Wisner-Pilger, start EHC Tournament with wins

The North Bend Central Boys got back on track Thursday night with an 80-44 home win over Wisner-Pilger before defeating West Point-Beemer 62-44 in the East Husker Conference Tournament Quarterfinals at home Tuesday night.

The Tigers led the Gators 21-9 after one, and outscored Wisner-Pilger 23-15 in the 2nd quarter to take a 44-24 lead into the locker room.

NBC outscored the Gators 21-9 in the 3rd quarter to go up 65-33 at the end of three.

The Tigers won the 4th quarter 15-11.

North Bend Central got out to a 19-10 lead on the Cadets at the end of one. The Tigers tripled up West Point-Beemer 18-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 37-16 lead into the locker room.

NBC won the 3rd quarter 13-10 to go up 50-26 at the end of three.

The Cadets won the 4th quarter 18-12.

Two great games from the Tigers.

North Bend Central (12-3) battles Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (14-3) in the EHC Semis at Midland Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

H/LHF knocked off Clarkson/Leigh 53-45 in the other Quarterfinal at North Bend Central Tuesday night.

This should be a great game between these two teams.

I feel like the Tigers have a great shot to win the Conference Tournament.

BRLD or Oakland-Craig could have something to say about that should North Bend Central get past the Bulldogs and beat them in the Championship, but we will see.

H/LHF is going to be a tough challenge as well and is a threat to beat the Tigers.

North Bend Central has to bring it the way they have the past two games, but especially against Wisner-Pilger.

The Tigers had a couple of losses to great teams a couple weeks back, but you can bet that has motivated and only will motivate North Bend Central going forward.

I look for the Tigers to come out and smash Friday night.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the Bull.

The North Bend Central Girls won 60-26 at home over Wisner-Pilger Thursday night before downing Howells-Dodge 60-25 in the East Husker Conference Tournament Quarterfinals at home in action aired on 107.9 the Bull Monday night.

The Tigers outscored the Gators 14-5 in the 1st quarter, and won the 2nd quarter 15-10 to take a 29-15 lead into the locker room.

North Bend Central outscored Wisner-Pilger 14-3 in the 3rd quarter to go up 43-18 at the end of three.

The Tigers outscored the Gators 17-8 in the 4th quarter.

Kaitlyn Emanuel had 22 points and 8 rebounds while Sydney Emanuel totaled 13 points. Cierra Kluthe added 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The Tigers led the Jaguars 20-9 after the first quarter, and took a 34-15 advantage into halftime.

NBC won the third quarter 15-5 and also outscored Howells-Dodge 11-5 in the fourth.

Kaitlyn Emanuel led three NBC players in double figures with 21 points and added 13 rebounds to secure a double-double, while Sydney Emanuel scored 13 points and Kluthe added 11.

Two great games and dominating performances from the Tigers.

North Bend Central (14-2) takes on West Point-Beemer (15-3) in the East Husker Conference Tournament Semifinals from Midland in action that will be aired on 107.9 the Bull Friday afternoon.

The Cadets downed Pender 58-45 in the other Quarterfinal at North Bend Monday night in action also aired on the Bull.

The Tigers beat the Cadets 63-38 at home on December 10th in action that we had for you on the Bull as well.

West Point-Beemer kept up with North Bend Central in the 1st half, but the 2nd half was a different story.

A supporting cast alongside Sidney Swanson was missing in that game for the Cadets, but I feel like the supporting cast has come along for West Point-Beemer the way they need them to.

With that said, the Tigers have won the last four meetings between the two squads and look to make it five.

I think North Bend Central could very well make it five in a row over the Cadets, but it should be a great game one way or another.

Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on the Bull.
