Howells-Dodge Boys fall to North Bend Central and Wakefield; Girls lose to Tigers

The Howells-Dodge Boys lost 83-67 at North Bend Central Thursday night before falling 61-54 in overtime at home to Wakefield Friday night.

The Tigers went up 22-12 after one, and outscored the Jaguars 24-16 in the 2nd quarter to take a 46-28 lead into the locker room.

NBC won the 3rd quarter 19-15 to extend their lead to 65-43 at the end of three.

Howells-Dodge won the 4th quarter 24-18.

The Jaguars got out to a 15-14 lead on the Trojans after one, and doubled up Wakefield 16-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 31-22 lead into the locker room.

The Trojans outscored Howells-Dodge 21-14 in the 3rd quarter to make it a 45-43 game at the end of three.

Wakefield won the 4th quarter 8-6 to tie the game at 51 and send it into OT.

The Trojans outlasted the Jaguars 10-3 in the 4th quarter.

Howells-Dodge definitely let one get away against Wakefield.

The Jaguars (14-8) host Lutheran High Northeast (13-6) Friday night in the regular season finale.

The Eagles lost 64-34 at Hartington Cedar Catholic on Saturday.

This figures to be an interesting game, but I feel like Howells-Dodge has a good chance to win it.

Reasons being the Jaguars are at home and have a bit of an advantage when you compare scores to common opponents.

It figures to be an interesting game for sure Friday night.

This would be a really good one for Howells-Dodge to get heading into Sub-Districts.

I think the Jaguars will make a postseason run, but the LHNE game is pivotal without a doubt.

The Howells-Dodge Girls lost 59-38 at North Bend Central in Thursday night's regular season finale.

The Tigers led 17-12 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 10-8 to take a 27-20 lead into the locker room.

Both teams scored 13 points in the 3rd quarter, and NBC led 40-33 at the end of three.

The Tigers outscored the Jaguars 19-5 in the 4th quarter.

Really sounds like Howells-Dodge hung in there for 3 quarters and was in the game until the 4th quarter.

Janessa Schmidt and Blair Fiala had 8 points apiece while Jaedyn Ratzlaff totaled 7.

Good strong performance overall from the Jaguars I thought.

Howells-Dodge (10-12) battles Wisner-Pilger (8-13) in the C2-3 Sub-District Semifinals from GACC Tuesday night in action that will be aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Gators rounded out the regular season with a 58-56 overtime win at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Thursday night in action heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Jaguars beat Wisner-Pilger 56-42 at home in the regular season.

I think Tuesday night's game will be closer than that one was, but feel Howells-Dodge will win.

Both teams have done some really nice things this year, but I feel like the Jaguars have too many weapons for the Gators.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on the Bull.
