Great win on Saturday, and a solid effort on Tuesday as well.
West Point-Beemer (7-11) takes on Twin River (9-10) in an EHC Consolation Game in Howells Friday night.
The Titans lost 54-36 at Oakland-Craig in the Quarterfinals Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.
Twin River beat the Cadets 50-48 in West Point on Friday, January 22nd.
This is truly a game that could go either way if you ask me.
It's a toss up honestly just like the first meeting was.
I could see West Point-Beemer winning this time around, but I could also see the Titans pulling out the win.
The game figures to come down to a single possession perhaps just like it did the first time around.
If you're the Cadets you hope you make the necessary plays down the stretch to win and come out on top.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Howells-Dodge High School.
West Point-Beemer pulled away in the second half to beat Pender 58-45 in the quarterfinals of the girls East Husker Conference basketball tournament in North Bend on Monday, in a game aired on 107.9 The Bull.
Pender took an early 10-7 lead after the first quarter, but West Point-Beemer exploded for 19 points in the second quarter, and the Cadets led 26-22 at halftime.
The Cadets were able to build a double digit lead in the third quarter, but the Pendragons closed the quarter strong, and after the third, the lead was 46-40 in favor of West Point-Beemer.
Pender was held to just five points in the fourth quarter, and West Point-Beemer pulled away to win.
Despite being held scoreless in the first quarter, Sidney Swanson went on to lead West Point-Beemer with 30 points, including a 14-16 performance at the free throw line. She also had 7 rebounds. Reece Snodgrass added 13 points for the Cadets, including a trio of three pointers while Brooklyn Weddle posted 7.
Strong performance from West Point-Beemer.
The Cadets (15-3) take on North Bend Central (14-2) in the East Husker Conference Tournament Semifinals from Midland Friday afternoon in action that will be aired on 107.9 the Bull.
The Tigers routed Howells-Dodge 60-25 at home in Monday night's Quarterfinal round in action also aired on the Bull.
NBC beat West Point-Beemer 63-38 at home on December 10th in action we also had on the Bull, and has won four straight over the Cadets.
West Point-Beemer's supporting cast has certainly stepped up and come to the aid of Swanson as the season has progressed, and will need to do that once again Thursday night.
Swanson did most of the scoring on her own in the first meeting, and the Cadets need others to step up and help her like Snodgrass and Weddle did against the Pendragons.
Jadyn Meiergerd, Rachel Groth, and Emily Toelle all have to be big in this one as well.
This is a big time opportunity for West Point-Beemer to knock off the defending Class C-1 State Champs in a big time game and atmosphere.
Should be a fun one.
Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on the Bull.
