The Oakland-Craig Boys lost 56-53 at home to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on Saturday in a regular season game before winning 54-36 at home over Twin River in the East Husker Conference Tournament Quarterfinals Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.
The Knights led the Bulldogs 17-16 after one. H/LHF tripled up Oakland-Craig 6-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 22-19 lead into the locker room.
The Bulldogs won the 3rd quarter 16-12 to increase their lead to 38-31 at the end of three.
Oakland-Craig won the 4th quarter 22-18.
Gunnar Ray had a game-high 20 points while Carson Thomsen and Coulter Thiele added 10 apiece. Jaron Meyer pulled down 10 rebounds.
Against the Titans, Ray had nine of Oakland-Craig’s 14 first quarter points, 10 of their 21 second quarter points, and seven of their 13 third quarter points, while finishing with 30 on the game.
The Knights led 14-9 after the first quarter and 35-21 at halftime.
O-C also outscored the Titans 13-8 in the third quarter.
Ray also had 9 rebounds while Thiele notched 8.
It certainly was the Gunnar Ray show in both games for the Knights.
Oakland-Craig (15-4) takes on BRLD (10-3) in the EHC Semifinals at Midland Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Wolverines won 59-40 over Howells-Dodge in the other Quarterfinal at Oakland-Craig Tuesday night in action also aired on the Bull.
BRLD was lights out in that one, and the Knights are going to need to be on top of their game to come away with a win in this one.
It is Gunnar Ray vs. Lucas Vogt, Oakland-Craig vs. BRLD in the EHC Semis.
Like the Girls game, this should be a stellar and spectacular matchup between two great teams that I consider to be rivals of sort.
Things should come down to the very end with both teams playing their hearts out and doing everything they can to win.
I have no doubt that both teams will lay everything out on the line in this one.
It's a gigantic clash in Fremont Friday night, and it's scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. on the Bull.
The Oakland-Craig Girls won 56-25 at home over Wisner-Pilger Friday night in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament before upsetting Clarkson/Leigh 54-40 in the EHC Quarterfinals in Leigh Monday night.
O-C led the Gators 10-7 after one, and outscored Wisner-Pilger 22-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 32-13 lead into the locker room.
The Knights outscored the Gators 19-6 in the 3rd quarter to go up 51-19 at the end of three.
Wisner-Pilger won the 4th quarter 6-5.
Sadie Nelson had 19 points while Chaney Nelson totaled 15. Sydney Guzinski chipped in 11. Makenna Pearson added 14 rebounds.

Oakland-Craig outscored Clarkson/Leigh 18-10 in the 3rd quarter to go up 40-33 at the end of three.
The Knights doubled up the Patriots 14-7 in the 4th quarter.
Sadie Nelson had a game-high 23 points while Chaney Nelson notched 16. Guzinski added 10 while Shea Johnson pulled down 10 rebounds.
That's more like it for Oakland-Craig.
The Knights (11-7) face BRLD (13-4) in the EHC Semis at Midland in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull Friday afternoon.
The Wolverines won 48-42 over Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family in the other Quarterfinal at Leigh Monday night.
BRLD has been lights out as of late, but Oakland-Craig appears to have figured something out the past couple of games.
Both teams are playing the kind of basketball they want to be at this point in the season, and this should be a great game and a barn burner come Thursday night.
This one could go either way as I honestly don't know what to expect.
One thing is for sure though....there figures to be a high level of play in this one without a doubt.
I look for both teams to really get after one another and go at each other come Thursday night.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on the Bull.
