BRLD Boys win East Husker Conference Tournament; Girls beat Stanton and Wisner-Pilger

The Bancroft-Rosalie/Lyons Decatur Boys Basketball Team overcame a slow start to beat Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 62-44 in the East Husker Semifinals at North Bend Central Friday night.

Dylan Beutler led all scorers with 24 points for the Wolverines, including four three pointers. Darwin Snyder added 10 points.

Head Coach Cory Meyer. "I'll tell you what I'm very proud of our kids. They came out they played very well. You got to give it to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family they're a really good team. I'm not one that makes a lot of predictions, but I could see them going very far in D-1 if not win it all."

NBC scored 17 in the first quarter and took a 28-23 lead into the intermission.

But the Wolverines came out strong after halftime, scored 42 points in the second half, including 26 in the fourth quarter and 12 in the last two minutes, while pulling away late for a 65-56 win.

Lucas Vogt led three BRLD players in double figures with 20 points, with Jaxon Johnson scoring 17 and Beutler adding 13.

The Wolverines then turned around and defeated Wisner-Pilger 77-53 on the road Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

BRLD went up 25-10 at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 23-18 to take a 48-28 lead into the locker room.

The Wolverines won the 3rd quarter 17-12 to go up 65-40 at the end of three.

The Gators won the 4th quarter 13-12.

Snyder led the way with 19 points while Beutler notched 16. Will Gatzemeyer added 14 while Johnson notched 9.

BRLD is looking extremely good right now.

The Wolverines (18-1) host Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (14-7) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Raiders won 55-54 on a Riley Hoetfelker buzzer beating 3-pointer at Clarkson/Leigh Tuesday night.

The Patriots have come on lately and played good basketball.

LVSS is a good, young, solid, and very scrappy ball club.

The Raiders are having a nice season in what many thought would be a rebuilding year.

This game could certainly be close and low scoring, but BRLD should win.

The Wolverines are looking like state championship contenders in C-2 right now, in my opinion.

I think BRLD has a great shot to win State and bring home the hardware.

Lots of steps in the process to go through before that happens though.

The Wolverines just have to focus on beating Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

BRLD can't be looking forward to their game with Auburn in the Heartland Hoops Classic on Saturday.

The Wolverines have to take care of business against the Raiders first, and then they can worry about the Bulldogs.

BRLD has to continue to play great basketball, and has to keep their foot on the pedal and pedal to the metal.

The Wolverines can have a special ending to this season, but they have to stay focused and take things one game at a time.

BRLD is a great team with a lot of great players, and I think that will be on display Friday night.

I'm personally excited to call the game on the Bull.

The game will tip-off at 6:30 p.m. before the girls game.

Yes that's right, the boys game will be before the girls game in Lyons Friday night.

The BRLD Girls won 58-48 at home over Stanton last Thursday night in an East Husker Conference Tournament Consolation Game before downing Wisner-Pilger 67-31 on the road Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Wolverines led 14-11 over the Mustangs after one. Both teams scored 15 points in the 2nd quarter, and the halftime score was 29-26 in favor of BRLD.

The Mustangs won the 3rd quarter 10-8 to make it a 37-36 game at the end of three.

The Wolverines outscored Stanton 21-12 in the 4th quarter.

Caragan Tietz had 13 points against the Gators while Kelsey Larsen totaled 12. Jordan Snyder added 10 while Isabel Freemont registered 7.

Really good play from BRLD the last couple of games. The Wolverines certainly appear to be putting things together at the right time.

BRLD (14-7) plays host to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (6-15) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Raiders won 49-29 at Boys Town Thursday night.

LVSS will be coming into this game with some confidence given the win over the Cowboys.

This is one of those games I look for the Wolverines to come out guns a blazin in though.

I think BRLD will be ready to smash with a big Sub-District game coming up with GACC in Pender Tuesday night.

The Wolverines really need an all around great performance to give themselves a lot of confidence and momentum heading into the game with the Bluejays.

BRLD is on the outside looking in when it comes to getting a wildcard for Sub-State, but we'll see if the Wolverines can knock off GACC next week and give most likely Oakland-Craig a run for their money.

BRLD is in an extremely tough Sub-District, but the thing that matters and what to focus on right now though is beating Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

This team is young, but if the underclassmen could help send the seniors out in style it would be a big deal with this being the final regular season game for the Wolverines and all.

BRLD has had a very nice season, and I look for the Wolverines to cap things off with a big victory Friday night.

The Wolverines have to be revved up and juvenated and lively in this one.

BRLD has to be very active defensively, and has to really get after it with their press.

The Wolverines have to force the Raiders into a lot of big mistakes, and make it extremely difficult for them to score.

BRLD has to be suffocating defensively and has to keep Shaylin Daugherty and others off the boards.

The Wolverines have to run and get out in transition and play a fast pace and control things that way in this one.

BRLD has to play with the heart of a champion and get themselves fired, jacked, and psyched up for this one.

The game will follow the boys game, which is scheduled to be played first at 6:30 p.m.

I look forward to calling the game on the Bull.
