Emerson-Hubbard Boys knock off Allen in Sub-Districts
The Emerson-Hubbard Boys Basketball Team defeated Allen 38-35 in the D1-4 Sub-District Semifinals at Ponca Tuesday night.
Good win for the Pirates as it is survive and advance at this point.
Emerson-Hubbard (8-15) takes on Homer (4-20) in the Sub-District Final Thursday night.
The Knights upset Pender 58-53 in Tuesday night's Semifinals.
The Pirates beat Homer 60-59 in the Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament earlier in the season.
This should be another heck of a battle and ball game.
I think Emerson-Hubbard has a better chance of advancing to Sub-State now that Pender lost.
The Pirates still have their work cut out for them, but Emerson-Hubbard can definitely win this one.
It's for all the marbles and a trip to a District Final.
Win and the season continues...lose and it's over.
I think the Pirates have to be wary of the fact the Pendragons only beat the Knights by a point in the regular season and then lost.
With that said, it's a different game and matchup and anything can happen.
It would be a huge deal for either one of these programs to get to Sub-State.
Looking at where Emerson-Hubbard was last year and where they are this year it's a pretty good makeover.
The Pirates have come a long ways this season and are now in position to make a Sub-State game.
Chances like this don't come very often, and Emerson-Hubbard has to go out there and make the most of their opportunity.
The Pirates have to seize all the momentum and everything they ever wanted.
This is a golden opportunity for Emerson-Hubbard, and they have to take advantage of it.
This is a big game for Jacob Kneifl and Spencer Burcham in particular being the lone two seniors on the team so they have to play like it's their last game because lose and it will be.
Everyone has to come together and get riled and fired up for this one.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
