Winnebago Boys and Girls lose in Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament Quarterfinals to Osmond and Wynot, respectively

The Winnebago Boys Basketball Team's upset bid came up short Friday night as the Indians fell 63-62 to Osmond at Plainview in the Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament Quarterfinals.

Tough loss for Winnebago. I really thought the Indians were going to spring the upset.

Winnebago (9-7) plays host to Wakefield (14-3) Tuesday night.

The Trojans fell 45-43 to Osmond in the Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament Semifinals at Randolph Saturday night.

This is a game that can truly go either way, in my opinion.

This is a big game for Wakefield in terms of keeping pace in the Wildcard Point Standings.

The Trojans have a tough Sub-District so they'll no doubt come prepared and ready to play Tuesday night.

The Indians have to do their best to play the role of spoiler.

Winnebago can definitely spring the upset too being at home and everything I feel.

This game can truly go either way.....it's hard saying who's going to win.

You can bet one thing though....the Indians will be upset and motivated following the loss to the Tigers.

Both teams are coming off losses to Osmond, and I'm sure both would have liked to have beaten the Tigers.

I think it comes down to which team can forget about that loss the fastest.

Winnebago has had more time to put it in the rearview mirror so I expect the Indians to come out firing on all pistons and cylinders.

If Winnebago can get this one I think they could potentially win out the rest of the regular season with games against a couple of South Dakota Schools later this week and a game at home against GACC next Friday to close out the regular season.

The Indians have a postseason of their own to play for too, and their Sub-District is wide open so if Winnebago can get this one against Wakefield I feel it could turn the tide for them and springboard them to a winning streak heading into the postseason.

This is the time of year you want to be at your best, and the Indians have to simply keep at it.

Winnebago has been up and down in tight games so perhaps the Indians will have the upper hand and advantage if this one with the Trojans if it's close.

The Winnebago Girls lost 43-30 to Wynot at Wynot in the Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament Quarterfinals Thursday night.

Strong defensive performance from the Indians, but it appears Winnebago's offense was kept at bay.

The Indians (6-10) host Wakefield-Allen (4-13) Tuesday night.

The Trojans lost 44-35 to Randolph at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in Thursday night's Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament Quarterfinals.

This is a game I look for Winnebago to find and have success in.

If the Indians can play the way they did offensively against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge last Saturday they should be good to go Tuesday night.

This is a big week for Winnebago with games against a couple of South Dakota Schools who are above .500 later this week.

This is the last week before the postseason....the Indians' final chance to get on a run before the postseason hits.

Winnebago really needs this one in a big way too.

It's a game the Indians can't afford to lose.

Winnebago needs a win in this one if they hope to be able to avoid the play-in game for Sub-Districts.

If the Indians lose it appears likely they would be in the play-in game for Sub-Districts.

Pairings come out Thursday so this is Winnebago's last chance at doing something that affects power points.

The Indians have to put it all together and play a good game Tuesday night.

Winnebago has to have good flow and rhythm offensively, and has to box out, rebound, contest shots, and play the passing lanes on defense.

The Indians have to turn in of their better games and performances of the season to come out on top.

Winnebago should win, but the Indians have to play as if there is no tomorrow because at this time next week that is the exact scenario they will be facing and looking at.

Play to prepare for the postseason....that's what Winnebago has to do and be thinking at this point.

It's also the second-to-last home game of the season for these seniors so they have to go out there and make it a night to remember for everyone involved.

It's getting down to the very end and the very nitty gritty so Winnebago has to do all they can to come away with the win.
