Pender Girls dominate Osmond in Sub-Districts
The Pender Girls Basketball Team routed Osmond 72-37 in the D1-6 Sub-District Semifinals at Stanton Tuesday night.
The Pendragons led 18-3 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 20-12 to take a 38-15 lead into the locker room.
Pender outscored the Tigers 23-14 in the 3rd quarter to go up 61-29 at the end of three.
The Pendragons won the 4th quarter 11-8.
Great game by Pender Tuesday night.
The Pendragons (13-10) take on Randolph (13-9) in the D1-6 Sub-District Final at Stanton Thursday night.
The Cardinals downed Lutheran High Northeast 44-38 in Tuesday night's Semifinals.
I feel this will be a tight and close game, but think Pender will find a way to win.
I feel the Pendragons have played a tougher schedule and are just a little bit better than Randolph.
This should be a close and tight ball game though.
It's win or go home for Pender.
Win this game and the Pendragons extend their season. Lose and the season is over.
Pender has to come out raring to go like they did against Osmond.
The Pendragons have to come out and be efficient from the outside as well as the inside.
Pender has to have offensive balance across the board and get great production from everyone.
It has to be a total and complete team effort for the Pendragons.
Pender has to expect to win this game and advance.
The Cardinals will give the Pendragons their best shot I'm sure, but it's nothing Pender hasn't seen or experienced before I would say.
The Pendragons have to be calm and cool in big moments and must find ways to come through in the clutch.
Pender has to make plays on both ends of the floor down the stretch and be smart.
The Pendragons have to take care of the basketball, create turnovers, and box out and rebound well.
Pender has to play the way they did Tuesday night, it's that simple.
If the Pendragons play lights out the way they did against the Tigers then I don't think there's any doubt they'll win on Thursday.
Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
