Pender Boys lose regular season finale to BRLD
The Pender Boys Basketball Team lost 80-34 at BRLD Friday night to close out the regular season.
The Wolverines led 19-13 after one, and outscored the Pendragons 24-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 43-23 lead into the locker room.
BRLD outscored Pender 27-7 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 70-30 at the end of three.
The Wolverines won the 4th quarter 10-4.
The exact thing and result the Pendragons didn't want.
Pender (9-13) takes on Homer (3-20) in the D1-4 Sub-District Semifinals from Ponca Tuesday night.
The Knights lost 67-53 at home to Wakefield Friday night.
Pender beat Homer 49-48 at home in the regular season.
This Sub-District is wide open and the Pendragons have to be on top of their game if they want to win it.
Anyone can beat anyone in this Sub-District, in my opinion, as there is no for sure win anywhere.
Pender has to shake off Friday's loss and regroup quickly.
The Pendragons have an excellent opportunity to win the Sub-District and get to a Sub-State Game, and they simply have to get the job done and make the most of their opportunity.
The way Homer played Friday night though and the fact the regular season game between the two teams was close makes the Knights a legit threat to win, in my opinion.
Pender simply needs to have a quick memory and must forget about what happened Friday night.
I feel the Pendragons aren't the type of team who's going to dwell over a lopsided loss to the Wolverines.
I feel Pender will have a quick memory and will be able to bounce back well Tuesday night.
This is the Pendragons' time and chance to get to a Sub-State Game.
Pender has a golden opportunity in front of them and must make the most of it.
Chances like these don't come everyday for the Pendragons so Pender has to step up and make it happen.
Sam Mailloux and Eric Schopke and Dylan Vogt and others have to explode and do big things for the Pendragons next week.
Pender has to bring their "A" game and play their best on both Tuesday and Thursday if they get past Homer.
The winner gets either Emerson-Hubbard or Allen in the Sub-District Final on Thursday, but the Pendragons have to worry about getting past the Knights first.
Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
