Clarkson/Leigh Boys lose to BRLD; Girls beat Wolverines and David City

The Clarkson/Leigh Boys lost 73-36 at home to BRLD last Friday night.

The Patriots jumped out to a 17-16 lead at the end of one before the Wolverines outscored Clarkson/Leigh 22-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 38-19 lead at halftime.

BRLD outscored the Patriots 17-9 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 55-28 at the end of three.

The Wolverines outscored Clarkson/Leigh 18-8 in the 4th quarter.

Carter Hanel had 11 points and 7 rebounds while Trevor Zulkoski and Kyle Kasik notched 9 points apiece. Eli Hays added 7.

The Patriots played well early against BRLD.

Clarkson/Leigh (2-3) plays host to Howells-Dodge (3-4) on Saturday.

The Jaguars upset BRLD 59-56 in Double Overtime at home Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull, snapping the Wolverines' 55-game winning streak.

This game figures to be close and competitive given the fact that these two are rivals.

You have to wonder about an emotional letdown for Howells-Dodge.

You can throw the records out when these two get together as anything can happen.

I look for the Patriots to come out and play well and inspired on Saturday.

Clarkson/Leigh did well for a quarter against BRLD, and has to play that way for 4 quarters against Howells-Dodge.

If the Patriots do that then they could very well win.

Clarkson/Leigh has to play out of their minds and execute to perfection.

If the Patriots can turn in a masterful performance then they could very well find themselves on top on the Scoreboard.

There are no moral victories in this one for Clarkson/Leigh as you want to win anytime you face a rival.

The Clarkson/Leigh Girls won 38-31 at home over BRLD last Friday night before defeating David City 38-30 at home Tuesday night.

The Wolverines led 6-5 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Patriots won the 2nd quarter 13-10 to take an 18-16 lead into the locker room.

Clarkson/Leigh tripled up BRLD 9-3 in the 3rd quarter to go up 27-19 at the end of three.

The Wolverines won the 4th quarter 12-11.

Kennedy Settje had 14 points while Cassidy Hoffman totaled 10 points and 15 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Kayden Schumacher added 7 rebounds.

The Patriots jumped out to an 11-4 lead on the Scouts at the end of one. Both teams scored 5 points in the 2nd quarter, and the score was 16-9 at halftime.

David City won the 3rd quarter 13-12 to make it a 28-22 game at the end of three.

Clarkson/Leigh won the 4th quarter 10-8.

Alissa Kasik led the way with 12 points while Chloe Hanel notched 9. Settje added 7 while Hoffman registered 7 rebounds.

Two good wins for the Patriots.

Clarkson/Leigh (6-0) plays host to Howells-Dodge (3-4) on Saturday.

The Jaguars lost 58-42 at home to BRLD Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

This is a rivalry game and things are always close when these two teams get together.

You can throw the records out in this one.

I fully expect things to be super tight throughout, but I do think the Patriots will win a close game.

Clarkson/Leigh has to play a great game and play in your face, tight, and suffocating defense.

The Patriots have to get after things on both ends of the floor and let their defense transition and lead to their offense.

Clarkson/Leigh has to get amped and fired up for this one, and must be locked in from start to finish.

Anything can happen in a rivalry game, and the Patriots have to make sure they bring their "A" game on Saturday.
