Wisner-Pilger Boys begin year 1-1; Girls 0-2

The Wisner-Pilger Boys fell 61-50 at Lutheran High Northeast in last Thursday night's season opener before winning 65-39 at home over GACC Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The game with the Bluejays was tied at 13 at the end of one. Wisner-Pilger outscored GACC 23-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 36-23 lead into the locker room.

The Gators outscored the Bluejays 18-8 in the 3rd quarter to go up 54-31 at the end of three.

Wisner-Pilger won the 4th quarter 11-8.

Regan Bellar had 20 points while Spencer Batenhorst totaled 13. Beau Ruskamp added 11 while Hunter Palmer and Jackson Knust had 8 apiece.

Good bounce back win for the Gators Friday night.

Wisner-Pilger (1-1) plays host to Tekamah-Herman (1-1) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Tigers lost 67-62 at Stanton on Saturday.

Tekamah-Herman beat Pender 63-50 though.

Up to this point the Gators have probably been a little bit better, but this game could go either way.

It really depends which team shows up for both teams Friday night.

If the team that beat Pender shows up for the Tigers then it should be a good game.

And if the team that showed up against LHNE for Wisner-Pilger shows up again on Friday then things could be interesting.

But if the same Tekamah-Herman team that lost to Stanton shows up again on Friday and the Gators play the way they did against the Bluejays then Wisner-Pilger could win this one rather easily.

It will be interesting to see what happens that is for sure.

The Wisner-Pilger Girls lost 68-31 at Lutheran High Northeast in last Thursday night's season opener before falling 68-25 at home to GACC in action aired on 107.9 the Bull Friday night.

The Bluejays led the Gators 33-2 at the end of the 1st quarter.

Wisner-Pilger won the 2nd quarter 11-9 to make it a 42-13 game at halftime.

GACC outscored the Gators 18-10 in the 3rd quarter to go up 60-23 at the end of three.

The Bluejays quadrupled up Wisner-Pilger 8-2 in the 4th quarter.

Adi Meyer had 12 points to lead the Gators.

A couple of tough games for Wisner-Pilger.

The Gators (0-2) host Tekamah-Herman (0-2) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Tigers lost 56-35 at Stanton on Saturday.

This game figures to be really interesting.

It's a battle of two teams who have really struggled and could really use a win.

I think Wisner-Pilger could get their first win of the year, but Tekamah-Herman could easily win as well.

This is a complete toss up if you ask me.

Both teams have to forget about last week's games and go out there and regroup and reorganize.

The Gators have to be tenacious with their attack and play.

Wisner-Pilger has to be relentless, and do whatever it takes to come away with the win.

Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. on the Bull.
