Tekamah-Herman Boys start year 1-1; Girls 0-2

The Tekamah-Herman Boys won 63-50 at home over Pender Friday night before falling 67-62 at Stanton on Saturday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 15-4 lead on the Pendragons at the end of one. Tekamah-Herman won the 2nd quarter 13-10 to take a 28-14 lead into the locker room.

The Pendragons won the 3rd quarter 16-10 to make it a 38-30 game at the end of three.

The Tigers took the 4th quarter 25-20 to make up the final score.

Good win for Tekamah-Herman Friday night, but a tough loss on Saturday.

The Tigers (1-1) take on Wisner-Pilger (1-1) on the road Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Gators won 65-39 at home over GACC Friday night in action that was also aired on the Bull.

So far Wisner-Pilger is looking pretty respectable.

I think this has a chance to be a ball game though.

If Tekamah-Herman plays the way they did against Pender then they should be able to keep things close against the Gators.

But if the Tigers struggle, especially on defense like they did against the Mustangs, then Wisner-Pilger could run away with things.

Hopefully that's not the case and hopefully we have a heck of a ball game, but just thinking of scenarios that could take place Friday night.

Tekamah-Herman has to come out and play with a lot of pride and toughness.

The Tigers have to take pride in themselves and their team, and be mighty excited to be able to have the chance to play Basketball.

The Tekamah-Herman Girls lost 68-26 at home to Pender in Friday night's season opener before falling 56-35 at Stanton on Saturday.

The Mustangs led 7-6 at the end of the 1st quarter, and outscored the Tigers 17-7 in the 2nd quarter to take a 24-13 lead into the locker room.

Stanton won the 3rd quarter 10-7 to go up 34-20 at the end of three.

The Mustangs outscored Tekamah-Herman 22-15 in the 4th quarter.

Two tough losses to start the season for the Tigers.

Tekamah-Herman (0-2) battles Wisner-Pilger (0-2) on the road Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Gators fell 68-25 at home to GACC Friday night in action that was also aired on the Bull.

This should be a heck of a game, and one that the Tigers ought to really feel that they can get.

Both of these teams really need a win, and a win for Tekamah-Herman would be a big boost of moral and momentum for them.

If the Tigers can get this one then they should be able to beat Twin River on Saturday and win two in a row.

It won't be easy, but it can definitely happen.

Tekamah-Herman has to play hard and smart, and go out there and make it happen.

These next two games are crucial in my mind.

It will be interesting to see what happens that is for sure.

The first two games of the season didn't go the Tigers' way, but perhaps the next two will.

Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. on the Bull.
