Pender Girls beat Stanton, lose to BRLD

The Pender Girls won 64-22 at Stanton on Saturday before losing 63-51 at BRLD Tuesday night.

The Pendragons led the Mustangs 17-9 at the end of the 1st quarter. Pender doubled up Stanton 16-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-17 lead into the locker room.

The Pendragons outscored the Mustangs 17-2 in the 3rd quarter to go up 50-19 at the end of three.

Pender outscored Stanton 14-3 in the 4th quarter.

BRLD doubled up the Pendragons 12-6 in the 1st quarter. Both teams scored 17 points in the 2nd quarter, and the Wolverines led 29-23 at the half.

BRLD outscored Pender 19-11 in the 3rd quarter to increase their lead to 48-34 at the end of three.

The Pendragons won the 4th quarter 17-15.

Good win for Pender on Saturday.

The Pendragons finish the pre-Christmas Holiday Schedule with a 6-2 record.

Pender takes on Hartington Cedar Catholic (1-4) in the opening round of the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout at Wayne High School Monday afternoon.

The Trojans lost 65-51 at Dakota Valley, SD Tuesday night.

Pender should be able to win this one fairly easily I would think.

Still though Cedar Catholic has a rich tradition and history, and will come to play no doubt.

A potential semifinal matchup on Tuesday looms with Pierce, and what a great and fantastic matchup that would be.

First things first though the Pendragons have to take care of business against the Trojans.

Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
