North Bend Central Boys and Girls off to 2-0 starts

The North Bend Central Boys routed Twin River 71-42 at home in Thursday night's season opener before winning 69-55 at Seward on Saturday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 19-7 lead at the end of one. The Titans won the 2nd quarter 17-12 to make it a 31-24 game at halftime.

North Bend Central outscored Twin River 19-6 in the 3rd quarter to go up 50-30 at the end of three.

The Tigers won the 4th quarter 21-12.

Jaxon Wietfeld had 21 points while Brodey Johnson totaled 14. Breckin Peters added 11 while Asher Endorf added 9. Junior Kennedy and Kyler Hellbusch each had 7 points.

Two strong performances from North Bend Central.

The Tigers (2-0) host West Point-Beemer (1-2) Thursday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Cadets won 48-30 at Stanton Tuesday night.

West Point-Beemer lost close games at the end at Arlington on Thursday and at home against Omaha Roncalli on Saturday so the Cadets are definitely a better team than their record shows.

NBC has to continue their hot play and stellar start Thursday night.

The Tigers have to light things up on offense and keep playing solid defense.

North Bend Central has to be strong and efficient from the outside and must score the ball from the inside and knock free throws down as well.

I feel like both of these teams play a similar game in a lot of ways so it should be a heck of a game and matchup.

It will be thrilling to bring you both games on the Bull Thursday night.

Should be quite the night in North Bend.

The North Bend Central Girls dominated Twin River 72-16 at home in Thursday night's season opener before winning 59-28 at Seward on Saturday.

The Tigers led the Titans 16-2 at the end of the 1st quarter, and outscored Twin River 30-1 in the 2nd quarter to take a 46-3 lead into the locker room.

NBC won the 2nd quarter 7-5 to go up 53-8 at the end of three. The Tigers outscored the Titans 19-8 in the 4th quarter.

Sydney Emanuel led the way with 18 points while Kaitlyn Emanuel notched 15. Madelyn Gaughen added 9 points and 7 rebounds while Cierra Kluthe totaled 7 points and 7 rebounds.

North Bend Central went up 18-5 at the end of the 1st quarter on the Bluejays before claiming the 2nd quarter 14-9 to take a 32-14 lead into the locker room.

The Tigers outscored Seward 16-9 in the 3rd quarter to go up 48-23 at the end of three.

North Bend Central won the 4th quarter 11-5.

Sydney Emanuel totaled 16 points while Kluthe added 12 points and 12 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Kaitlyn Emanuel posted 12 points and 9 rebounds while Hannah Williams had 8 points.

Really strong start for the defending C-1 State Champs, who are playing excellent basketball on both ends of the floor so far.

The Tigers (2-0) host West Point-Beemer (3-0) in a huge game Thursday night that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Cadets won 66-24 at Stanton Tuesday night.

North Bend Central beat West Point-Beemer twice last year, including at State.

Both teams know each other so well, and this should be another great game and battle between these two teams.

It's the first of what really could be 4 meetings this season.

The two teams could definitely meet in the East Husker Conference Tournament, Sub-Districts, and possibly State again.

The Tigers have to come out and play the way they did in their first two games.

If North Bend Central does that they figure to stand as good a chance to win as the Cadets do.

The Tigers have to try and use their length and size to overpower a quick and athletic West Point-Beemer bunch.

The battle down low and rebounding game will be key for sure.

North Bend Central has to use their size to alter shots and play strong defense against the Cadets.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the Bull.
