Logan View-Scribner-Snyder Boys off to 1-2 start; Girls 0-2 thus far

The Logan View-Scribner-Snyder Boys have started the season 1-2, losing 55-47 at Oakland-Craig last Thursday night, and 50-45 at home to Omaha Concordia on Saturday. The Raiders defeated Wayne 53-33 at home Tuesday night for their first win of the season.

Oakland-Craig doubled up the Raiders 16-8 in the first quarter. The Knights won the second quarter 15-9 to lead 31-17 at the break.

Logan View-Scribner-Snyder outscored Oakland-Craig 16-5 in the third quarter to make it a 3-point game at 36-33 at the end of three.

The Knights notched 19 fourth quarter points compared to 14 for the Raiders to hold on for the win.

Ben Moxness registered 14 points and 8 rebounds while Darnell Sims totaled 8 points. Andrew Poppe notched 7 while Jacob Polk pulled down 8 rebounds.

Logan View-Scribner-Snyder led the Mustangs 14-12 at the end of one. Both teams scored 8 second quarter points, and the Raiders led 22-20 at halftime.

Omaha Concordia won the third quarter 14-11 to lead 34-33 at the end of three.

The Mustangs outscored Logan View-Scribner-Snyder 16-12 in the fourth quarter to make up the final score.

Sims had a team-high 15 points. Polk and Hunter Schlueter each had 8.

The Raiders jumped out to an 11-5 lead on the Blue Devils at the end of one. Logan View-Scribner-Snyder won the second quarter 16-12 to lead 27-17 at halftime.

The Raiders outscored Wayne 17-7 in the third quarter to make it a 44-24 game at the end of three.

Both teams scored 9 fourth quarter points.

Moxness led all scorers with 22 points and had 8 rebounds. Schlueter added 7 points.

Logan View-Scribner-Snyder appears to have gotten things figured out against the Blue Devils. The Raiders had been close to winning, but had been coming up short.

Logan View-Scribner-Snyder (1-2) is at Wahoo (0-2) on Saturday.

The Warriors lost 65-42 at home to Bennington last Thursday before falling 61-51 at Seward this past Saturday.

Wahoo is off to a tough start, but the Raiders can't let the Warriors' slow start fool them.

Wahoo is still a good team, and Logan View-Scribner-Snyder has to respect the Warriors.

Wayne has a lot of basketball tradition just like Wahoo. The Blue Devils appear to be down this year, and the same could be said for the Warriors.

The Raiders have an excellent opportunity in front of them. Logan View-Scribner-Snyder has a chance to pick up another big win.

It's going to be tough for the Raiders to win at Wahoo, but Logan View-Scribner-Snyder is certainly capable of getting the job done.

The Raiders lost two close games before breaking out against the Blue Devils.

It will be interesting to see if Logan View-Scribner-Snyder can keep the momentum going.

This is a game that could go either way, in my opinion. I'm interested to find out how the Raiders do.

The biggest thing for Logan View-Scribner-Snyder is they can't be afraid. The Raiders have to be confident in what they are doing.

The LVSS girls basketball program got its start this past week.

The Raiders are 0-2 on the season so far.

Logan View-Scribner-Snyder lost 71-23 at Oakland-Craig last Thursday before falling 61-39 at home to Wayne on Tuesday.

Oakland-Craig capitalized off the Raiders 33 turnovers and prevented LVSS from getting into a flow on offense.

The Knights led the Raiders 19-6 at the end of one. Oakland-Craig outscored Logan View-Scribner-Snyder 23-6 in the second quarter to lead 42-12 at halftime.

The Knights won the third quarter 20-9 to extend their lead to 41 at 62-21 at the end of three.

Oakland-Craig put up 9 fourth quarter points compared to just 2 for the Raiders.

Senior Paige Heinke led the Raiders in scoring with 8.

The Blue Devils took a 19-7 lead over Logan View-Scribner-Snyder at the end of one. Wayne doubled up the Raiders 12-6 in the second quarter to go up 31-13 at halftime.

The Blue Devils won the third quarter 15-14 to make it a 46-27 game at the end of three.

Wayne outscored Logan View-Scribner-Snyder 15-12 in the fourth quarter.

Sierra Beacom led the Raiders with 12 points. Heinke totaled 11.

Logan View-Scribner-Snyder has struggled in their first two games, but the Raiders made a lot of strides from game one to game two. Logan View-Scribner-Snyder was more competitive against Wayne than Oakland-Craig.

The Raiders (0-2) travel to Malcolm (3-0) Friday night.

The Clippers defeated Conestoga 32-22 at home Tuesday night.

Malcolm is a good team, and Logan View-Scribner-Snyder is going to have to play very well to compete, there's no doubt about it.

It's important for the Raiders to make strides even if they don't win.

Logan View-Scribner-Snyder went from a 48-point loss to a 22-point loss so if the Raiders could play the Clippers to within single digits that could serve as a moral victory.

You never want to go into a game not thinking you are going to win so certainly Logan View-Scribner-Snyder has to believe.

The Raiders must play to win, and not play not to lose.

Logan View-Scribner-Snyder has to play with tremendous effort and heart, and leave it all out on the floor.

The Raiders may not win, but I think Logan View-Scribner-Snyder has a chance to be competitive.

You want to improve every time out, and so far that is what the Raiders have done.

I look for Logan View-Scribner-Snyder to play their best game of the season-to-date Friday night.

I'm interested to see what the Raiders can do.
