BRLD Boys and Girls 2-1 in last three games

The BRLD Boys are 2-1 in their last three games, downing Tekamah-Herman 65-30 on the road Friday night, falling 39-37 at West Point-Beemer on Saturday, and defeating Howells-Dodge 55-49 on the road Monday night.

The Wolverines doubled up the Tigers 16-8 in the first quarter. BRLD outscored Tekamah-Herman 16-6 in the second quarter to take a 32-14 lead into the locker room.

The Wolverines won the third quarter 12-8 to lead 44-22 at the end of three.

BRLD outlasted the Tigers 21-8 in the fourth quarter.

Kenyan Lovejoy had a team-high 11 points while Montana Riecken notched 10. Hunter Ferguson and Aaron Ras totaled 8 apiece.

The Cadets led the Wolverines 16-12 after one. West Point-Beemer won the second quarter 11-10 to go up 27-22 at halftime.

BRLD tripled up the Cadets 12-4 in the third quarter to go in front 34-31 at the end of three.

West Point-Beemer outscored the Wolverines 8-3 in the fourth quarter.

Riecken had 7 rebounds.

Howells-Dodge led BRLD 17-15 at the end of the first. Both teams scored 13 points in the second quarter, and the Jaguars led 30-28 at halftime.

Howells-Dodge won the third quarter 13-11 to go up 43-39 after three.

The Wolverines outlasted the Jaguars 16-6 in the fourth quarter.

Lovejoy and Trent Gatewood registered 14 points apiece while Riecken and Cole Christofferson totaled 9 and 8, respectively. Ras added 7.

I think BRLD has played good basketball as of late although I must say I'm pretty surprised the Wolverines lost on Saturday.

BRLD (8-3) takes on Oakland-Craig (10-3) on the road Friday night.

The Knights lost 90-69 at Winnebago on Saturday. The loss snapped a 10-game winning streak for Oakland-Craig.

The Knights are a very good team and are much improved from last season. I think Oakland-Craig has proven they are a contender and the real deal, and will be tough for the Wolverines to handle, in my opinion.

This game is intriguing and interesting because it's a game being coached by brothers. BRLD is coached by Cory Meyer and Oakland-Craig is coached by Aaron Meyer.

This is a big game for both teams, and I'm sure both teams really want to pick up a win.

The Wolverines have such great depth, and that should help them tremendously in this game, although I believe the Knights are pretty deep themselves.

I think Oakland-Craig's offense is a bit more dynamic than BRLD's, but I think the Wolverines' defense might be consistently better.

I think this game comes down to offense for BRLD though. The Wolverines can't afford to have the type of game they had against the Cadets from an offensive standpoint.

If BRLD scores the way they did against Tekamah-Herman and Howells-Dodge they could be okay.

The Wolverines really need to clamp down defensively as well though. There isn't a player the Knights will put on the floor that isn't a threat to score I would say.

Oakland-Craig is a complete team, and will no doubt be hungry for a win given what happened against the Indians.

With that said, I'm sure BRLD wants to win this game in a big way too so I expect an even and close matchup.

I think this game could very well come down to free throws and execution, Moving without the ball will be important for both offenses, and setting good, hard picks will be important as well I would say.

The Wolverines have to work hard and do things the right way. If they do that they should be fine.

The BRLD Girls are also 2-1 in their last three games, downing Tekamah-Herman 61-35 on the road Friday night, and West Point-Beemer 62-51 on the road Saturday, before losing 63-47 at Howells-Dodge Monday night.

The Tigers led the Wolverines 9-6 at the end of one. BRLD outscored Tekamah-Herman 15-4 in the second quarter to take a 21-13 lead into the locker room.

The Wolverines won the third quarter 19-13 to go up 40-26 at the end of three.

BRLD outlasted the Tigers 21-9 in the fourth quarter.

Kelly Wakeley led the way with 19 points while Vicki Gatzemeyer totaled 12. Lexie Bacon added 9 while Tess Nottleman registered 8. Tiahna Bonneau chipped in 8 rebounds.

Both the Wolverines and Cadets scored 13 points in the first quarter. BRLD outscored West Point-Beemer 21-12 in the second quarter to take a 34-25 lead into the locker room.

The Wolverines outscored the Cadets 18-11 in the third quarter to go up 52-36 after three.

West Point-Beemer outlasted BRLD 15-10 in the fourth quarter.

Bacon had a game-high 17 points while Wakeley and Gatzemeyer recorded 13 and 11, respectively. Paige Peters totaled 10 rebounds.

The Jaguars jumped out to a 21-11 lead on BRLD at the end of one. The Wolverines outscored Howells-Dodge 20-12 in the second quarter to make it a 33-31 game at halftime.

The Jaguars won the third quarter 11-9 to go up 44-40 at the end of three.

Howells-Dodge outlasted BRLD 19-7 in the fourth quarter.

Gatzemeyer had a team-high 15 points while Bacon notched 8.

I think the Wolverines have played respectable basketball as of late. The Jaguars are a really good team so I can see how BRLD lost to them the way they did.

The Wolverines (9-3) battle Oakland-Craig (8-4) on the road Friday night.

The Knights won 78-39 at Winnebago on Saturday.

Oakland-Craig is a pretty good team that is led by the likes of Dacey Nelson, Shannon Pille, Kennedy Benne, and Emmy Bousquet.

Those four really do damage and make the Knights go so BRLD has to be aware of their presence at all times.

The Wolverines have some girls that can play too though.

Wakeley, Gatzemeyer, Nottleman, Bacon, Peters, Bonneau, and others need to have big games on offense and defense for BRLD.

I think the Wolverines might have more of an explosive offense, but I feel the Knights are a stronger team defensively.

This is going to be a difficult game for BRLD, especially since it's on the road, but there's no doubt the Wolverines can win and get the job done.

I look for both teams to fly up and down the floor, and really get after one another.

It should be a great game. I feel the game can go either way.

BRLD has to be disciplined on offense and defense. The Wolverines have to try and get out and run, and be unselfish in terms of passing the ball.

BRLD has to keep their poise, and not pick up any cheap or unnecessary fouls.

The Wolverines have to turn in the best performance they can, and see if that's good enough to pick up a win.

This game is really tough to call or predict in terms of who is going to win, but I think BRLD has a good shot to get the job done.

It would be a big deal for the Wolverines to pick up wins 10 and 11 this weekend, in my opinion.

BRLD has Mead at home on Saturday, and shouldn't have much trouble there.
