North Bend Central Boys and Girls 1-1 in last two games

The North Bend Central Boys are 1-1 in their last two games, falling 55-45 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder last Friday night before winning 71-19 at Pender Thursday night.

The Tigers led the Raiders 16-10 after one. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outscored North Bend Central 14-8 in the second quarter to tie the game at 24 at halftime.

The Raiders won the third quarter 11-7 to go up 35-31 at the end of three.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outlasted the Tigers 20-14 in the fourth quarter.

North Bend Central led the Pendragons 28-4 after one. The Tigers outscored Pender 25-4 in the second quarter to take a 53-8 lead into the locker room.

North Bend Central outlasted the Pendragons 13-3 in the third quarter to go up 66-11 at the end of three.

Pender won the fourth quarter 8-5.

I think the Tigers were very motivated and determined given what happened against the Raiders. I would say North Bend Central responded very well against Pender.

The Tigers (8-2) take on Fremont Bergan (4-6) on the road Saturday.

Bergan lost 49-36 at home to Nebraska City Lourdes Thursday night.

Bergan doesn't appear to be the same type of team they've been in the past.

The Knights still have some big wins and tough losses, but at the end of the day they are still 4-6.

If North Bend Central plays the way they are capable of then I think the Tigers will win.

But if North Bend Central plays the way they did against Elkhorn Mount Michael then this could be an interesting game.

I expect the Knights to be tough and give the Tigers a game, but in the end I see North Bend Central prevailing.

The Tigers are built to win now while Bergan is in transition with a new coach and everything so I would say this is North Bend Central's time to shine.

The Tigers have to come out with the same fire, tenacity, passion, and toughness they came out with against Pender.

The Knights are a much different team than the Pendragons, but the way North Bend Central needs to play remains the same.

The Tigers have to come out with a business like attitude and be ready to take it to Bergan for four quarters.

North Bend Central has to make a statement in this game, and prove that they are one of the top teams in the area if they haven't done that already.

The Tigers have Columbus Scotus and Oakland-Craig next week so North Bend Central needs to play well in this game to gear up for those contests.

The North Bend Central Girls are also 1-1 in their last two games, winning 74-22 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder last Friday night before losing 47-43 at Pender Thursday night.

The Tigers led the Raiders 21-6 at the end of one. North Bend Central outscored LV/SS 23-7 in the second quarter to take a 44-13 lead into the locker room.

The Tigers outlasted the Raiders 17-7 in the third quarter to go up 61-20 at the end of three.

North Bend Central won the fourth quarter 13-2.

The Tigers led the Pendragons 12-11 after one. North Bend Central won the second quarter 12-9 to take a 24-20 lead into the locker room.

Pender doubled up the Tigers 18-9 in the third quarter to go up 38-33 at the end of three.

North Bend Central won the fourth quarter 10-9.

The third quarter proved to be the difference in the game. The Tigers played real well against LV/SS.

North Bend Central (7-4) takes on Fremont Bergan (10-2) on the road Saturday.

Bergan won 41-39 at home over Nebraska City Lourdes Thursday night.

The Knights have a real good record, but they haven't really beaten anyone.

They're still solid though and figure to be tough for the Tigers to beat.

North Bend Central can definitely win and get the job done though.

The Tigers just have to play four good quarters of basketball, and not lose the game because of one bad quarter.

North Bend Central's offense has to be effective and efficient. The Tigers must get and convert easy shots from the field and at the free throw line.

North Bend Central has to play a complete game and put it all together.

The Tigers have lost to some really good teams, but haven't really beaten anyone either, so this should be a great game.

I think North Bend Central definitely has what it takes to win and get the job done, but it's going to take a lot of mental and physical toughness on the Tigers' part for them to come out on top.

We'll find out how good a team North Bend Central really is. The Tigers have to dig deep and find some will from within to pull together and have a good game.

North Bend Central can't be discouraged or down about the Pender game.

That game is in the past so the Tigers have to do their best to put that contest in the rearview mirror and forget about it.

All North Bend Central can do now is move on and focus on Bergan.

This would be a big and much needed win for the Tigers with Columbus Scotus and Oakland-Craig coming up next week.
