Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys 4-0 in last four games; Girls 1-3 in same stretch
The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys are unbeaten in their last four games, upsetting North Bend Central 55-45 at home last Friday night, downing Stanton 59-29 at home on Saturday, defeating Madison 58-39 on the road Tuesday night, and winning 66-38 at Weeping Water Thursday night.
The Tigers led the Raiders 16-10 after one. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outscored North Bend Central 14-8 in the second quarter to tie the game at 24 at halftime.
The Raiders won the third quarter 11-7 to go up 35-31 at the end of three.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outlasted the Tigers 20-14 in the fourth quarter.
Ben Moxness led the way with 24 points while Jacob Polk and Andrew Poppe totaled 14 and 7, respectively.
The Raiders doubled up the Mustangs 16-8 in the first quarter. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outscored Stanton 19-8 in the second quarter to take a 35-16 lead into the locker room.
The Raiders outlasted the Mustangs 18-4 in the third quarter to lead 53-20 after three.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder went up 18-1 on the Dragons at the end of one. The Raiders won the second quarter 17-14 to take a 35-15 lead into the locker room.
LV/SS outscored Madison 8-7 in the third quarter to go up 43-22 after three.
The Dragons outlasted the Raiders 17-15 in the fourth quarter.
Moxness registered 24 points and 9 rebounds while Polk and VonSeggern totaled 11 and 9 points, respectively.
LV/SS led the Indians 21-15 at the end of one. The Raiders outscored Weeping Water 13-5 in the second quarter to take a 34-20 lead into the locker room.
LV/SS outlasted the Indians 19-8 in the third quarter to go up 53-28 at the end of three.
The Raiders won the fourth quarter 13-10.
Moxness registered 29 points and 9 rebounds while Polk and Nathan Taylor added 14 and 8, respectively.
LV/SS is playing great basketball and has found their groove. Moxness is having a fantastic individual season.
The Raiders (8-4) take on Wisner-Pilger (4-7) on the road Saturday.
The Gators lost 62-42 at home to Wayne on Monday.
Wisner-Pilger isn't a bad team, but LV/SS shouldn't have much trouble with the Gators whatsoever.
I look for the Raiders to play well and continue their winning ways.
Moxness and Polk have stepped up on a consistent basis during this winning streak for LV/SS, and Poppe, VonSeggern, and Taylor have all stepped up at different times.
Moxness is one of the better players in the area and has done some magnificent things this season and as of late.
Polk has really been a big contributor too.
I would say those two are the biggest reasons why the Raiders have been able to get their season on track.
LV/SS's defense has been great too though. The Raiders have really been clicking on all cylinders as of late and it has been impressive.
Offense wins games and defense wins championships, and right now LV/SS is doing both well.
The Raiders are streaking right now, and it doesn't appear that anyone is going to slow them down anytime soon.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Logan View/Scribner-Snyder didn't lose another game in the regular season.
I know that's a bold statement to make, but the way the Raiders' schedule sets up, it could happen.
I could see LV/SS slipping up in the East Husker Conference Tournament and/or in their final two regular season games, but I could see the Raiders running the table too like I mentioned.
The LVSS girls basketball team had a tough week last week at the hands of North Bend Central and Stanton.
The Raiders fell to North Bend by a final of 74-22.
Kaylee Boyle led the scoring with 9 points, Abby Kahlandt added 6 points, other scorers were Ashley Peters-4 points and Mackenzy Schreck-3 points.
The next afternoon the Raiders were defeated by Stanton by a final of 49-26.
LVSS scorers were Kaylee Boyle-11, Ashley Peters-6, Kahlandt-4, Morgan Morgan-3, Ashley Uhing-2.
LV/SS bounced back with a 43-29 win at Madison Tuesday night.
The Raiders got out to a 20-4 lead after one. Both teams scored 7 points in the second quarter to go up 27-11 at halftime.
LV/SS outscored the Dragons 8-5 in the third quarter to lead 35-16 at the end of three.
Madison outlasted the Raiders 13-8 in the fourth quarter.
Boyle had 14 points and 9 rebounds while Peters and Morgan totaled 9 and 8, respectively. Kahlandt and Schreck notched 8 rebounds apiece.
LV/SS fell 53-41 at Weeping Water Thursday night.
The Indians led 12-11 after one. Weeping Water outscored the Raiders 21-9 in the second quarter to take a 33-20 lead into the locker room.
The Indians won the third quarter 9-5 to go up 42-25 at the end of three.
LV/SS outlasted Weeping Water 16-11 in the fourth quarter.
I think the Raiders started to come on in the games with the Mustangs and Dragons, but took a step back with the loss to the Indians.
LV/SS (4-8) takes on Wisner-Pilger (5-8) on the road Saturday.
The Gators lost 53-49 at Howells-Dodge Friday night.
I think this is a winnable game for the Raiders.
LV/SS just has to be consistent scoring the ball and defending well. The Raiders need to have the same type of scoring explosion they had against Madison.
Another big thing for LV/SS is to have multiple girls in double figures. That generally goes hand in hand with having a scoring explosion.
The Raiders also have to play outstanding defense. LV/SS is 4-1 when holding teams under 50 points so I think that is the recipe for a win for the Raiders.
LV/SS has to continue to remain positive and keep plugging away.
Wisner-Pilger is in the same boat as the Raiders in that they've been inconsistent.
The Gators play Howells-Dodge to a 4-point game, but lose by 12 to West Point-Beemer.
All LV/SS can really do is bring their "A" game and let the rest take care of itself.
In a lot of ways the Raiders can dictate how Wisner-Pilger plays so LV/SS has to be ready to defend the whole court and create easy transition opportunities and baskets for themselves.
If the Raiders can do something similar to what the Cadets did defensively then they may have a shot to win.
LV/SS has to play much better than they did against Weeping Water though. The Raiders can't wait until the fourth quarter to crank things up on offense.
LV/SS has to play well for the entire game and do what they can to play with a lead and not behind.
