The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Boys won 45-28 at home over Pender last Thursday night.
The Bluejays led 8-2 after one, and outscored the Pendragons 9-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 17-6 lead into the locker room.
Pender won the 3rd quarter 19-14 to make it a 31-25 game at the end of three.
GACC outscored the Pendragons 14-3 in the 4th quarter.
Nice win for the Bluejays.
GACC (3-8) travels to Boone Central (5-8) to take on the Cardinals Saturday.
Boone Central lost 65-56 at Hartington Cedar Catholic Tuesday night.
This is going to be a tough one for the Bluejays.
The Cardinals have played an extremely difficult schedule this year.
The good news though is that GACC has had extra and ample time to prepare for Boone Central.
So in saying that I fully expect the Bluejays to come ready to play a great game on Saturday.
The GACC Girls routed Bishop Neumann 69-39 at home last Thursday night before steamrolling Fremont Bergan 65-37 at home Thursday night.
The Bluejays led the Cavaliers 21-5 after one. Neumann won the 2nd quarter 15-10 to make it a 31-20 game at halftime.
GACC outscored the Cavaliers 21-12 in the 3rd quarter to go up 52-32 at the end of three.
The Bluejays outscored Neumann 17-7 in the 4th quarter.
Brenna Rief led the way with 14 points while Livia Hunke totaled 12. Sophia Hass and Brandi Doernemann totaled 8 points apiece while Erica Engelmeyer notched 7.
GACC led Bergan 16-5 after one, and outscored the Knights 19-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 35-9 halftime lead.
Bergan won the 3rd quarter 13-9 to make it a 44-22 game at the end of three.
The Bluejays won the 4th quarter 21-15.
Rief led the way with 15 points while Doernemann notched 13. Taylor Timmerman added 8 while Erica Engelmeyer recorded 7.
Super dominant couple of games for GACC.
The Bluejays (11-2) take on Boone Central (4-9) on the road Saturday.
The Cardinals lost 45-30 at Hartington Cedar Catholic Tuesday night.
GACC should be able to win this one relatively easily I would think.
I feel like Boone Central could make things closer than some might think, but still see there being a significant margin of victory for the Bluejays in the end.
GACC has to simply go out there and take care of business and be relentless.
I look for the Bluejays to play an all around great basketball game on Saturday.
