Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys beat Raymond Central; Girls fall to Mustangs, beat Conestoga in Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys won 66-40 at Raymond Central Thursday night.

Riley Hoetfelker led the way with 20 points while Connor Larson and Garrett Kriete totaled 14 apiece.

Good, dominant win for the Raiders.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (12-2) hosts Arlington (8-6) in the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament Wednesday night.

The Eagles knocked off DC West 64-54 at home Friday night.

That coming on the heels of a 50-30 loss at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder last Tuesday.

Arlington figures to give the Raiders a tougher game this time around.

LVSS has to be prepared and ready to go as usual.

The Raiders have to be on top of their game like they were last week.

I really think if Logan View/Scribner-Snyder comes out and plays well and plays up to their potential they will be fine.

Still though the Raiders have to be wary of the Eagles based on their win against DC West and the fact that they are a rival.

Wednesday's game could be a totally different game than last Tuesday's was.

Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. at Logan View.

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls lost 45-31 at Raymond Central Thursday night before beating Conestoga 60-46 at Raymond Central in the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament on Saturday.

The Mustangs spurted out to a 15-8 lead at the end of one. The Raiders won the 2nd quarter 6-5 to make it a 20-14 game at halftime.

LVSS doubled up Raymond Central 10-5 in the 3rd quarter to cut the deficit to 1 at 25-24 at the end of three.

The Mustangs outscored the Raiders 20-7 in the 4th quarter.

Sophia Vacha had 12 points and 7 rebounds.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder got out to an 18-14 lead at the end of one on the Cougars. The Raiders doubled Conestoga 14-7 in the 2nd quarter to take a 32-21 lead into the locker room.

LVSS won the 3rd quarter 8-6 to go up 40-27 at the end of three.

The Raiders won the 4th quarter 20-19.

Grace Schlueter had 18 points to lead all scorers while Valerie Uehling notched 16. Cadynce Stockamp added 13 while Josie Kahlandt chipped in 8. Vacha posted 7 rebounds.

A much stronger 4th quarter for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder against the Cougars than against Raymond Central.

The Raiders (7-9) battle Syracuse (11-3) on the road Wednesday as the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament continues.

The Rockets won 52-46 at home over Ashland-Greenwood Friday night.

Syracuse is a pretty solid team who has lost to and beaten a few good teams.

The majority of their wins are over teams with losing records though.

I think LVSS can definitely compete and hold their own in this one.

The Raiders appeared to have gotten back to their old selves on Saturday, at least a little bit.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder was kind of in a funk starting with the loss to Stanton, but perhaps the Raiders have snapped out of it.

Either way, LVSS needs big games from Vacha, Schlueter, Stockamp, and Kahlandt if they want to win.

The Raiders need double figure scoring from each of them if they want to have a chance to beat Syracuse.

It will be interesting to see what happens, I think the Raiders have to feel optimistic at the very least.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
