Pender Boys fall to Clarkson/Leigh and Stanton; Girls fall to Patriots

The Pender Boys lost 49-22 at home to Clarkson/Leigh on Saturday and 50-45 at Stanton Monday night.

The Patriots tripled up the Pendragons 9-3 in the 1st quarter, and won the 2nd quarter 7-4 to take a 16-7 lead into the locker room.

Clarkson/Leigh outscored Pender 18-8 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 34-15 at the end of three.

The Patriots outscored the Pendragons 15-7 in the 4th quarter.

Stanton doubled up Pender 12-6 in the 1st quarter. The Pendragons won the 2nd quarter 12-9 to make it a 21-18 game at halftime.

The Mustangs doubled up Pender 14-7 in the 3rd quarter to up their advantage to 35-25 at the end of three.

The Pendragons outscored Stanton 20-15 in the 4th quarter.

A couple more tough losses for Pender.

The Pendragons (1-13) travel to Wisner to take on Wisner-Pilger (5-9) Thursday night.

The Gators won 63-54 at Twin River Tuesday night.

Pender has to dig deep and find a way to bounce back in this one.

The Pendragons have had a rough go of things this year, and must find a way to right the ship.

It's tough, but Pender has to come out and be positive and play a great game Thursday night.

The Pendragons have to be the ones to turn around their fortunes.

Pender can only improve by fixing themselves.

I think the Pendragons are losing more because of what they aren't doing than what their opponent is doing.

And somehow, some way Pender has to figure out how to fix and change that.

The Pender Girls' upset bid came up a little bit short on Saturday as the Pendragons fell 59-52 at home to Class C-2, No. 1 Clarkson/Leigh.

The Patriots led 10-9 after one, and outscored the Pendragons 21-15 in the 2nd quarter to take a 31-24 lead into the locker room.

Clarkson/Leigh won the 3rd quarter 12-11 to go up 43-35 at the end of three.

Pender won the 4th quarter 17-16.

Things were pretty much dead even except for the 2nd quarter.

The Pendragons (12-4) take on Wisner-Pilger (6-9) on the road Thursday night.

The Gators won 63-43 at Twin River Tuesday night.

I fully expect Pender to play well and bounce back from Saturday's setback.

The Patriots are a great team and Wisner-Pilger isn't nearly as strong as them.

The Gators have come on lately and are capable of playing well though so the Pendragons can't take them lightly.

I feel like Wisner-Pilger has the potential to challenge Pender and give them a game.

The Gators are improved over last year, but so is Pender I think.

Wisner-Pilger may come out flat and struggle too so the Pendragons have to be ready for anything.

At the end of the day Pender has to focus on themselves and play their game and let those things do the talking on the court for them and take care of the winning.
