The North Bend Central Boys fell 48-46 at home to Oakland-Craig Thursday night before losing 69-62 to Glenwood, IA at the Nebraska Prep Classic at Sokol Arena in Omaha on Saturday.
The Tigers led the Knights 9-8 at the end of the 1st quarter, and held a 22-21 halftime lead after both teams scored 13 second quarter points.
Oakland-Craig won the 3rd quarter 12-11 to tie the game at 33 at the end of three.
The Knights won the 4th quarter 15-13.
The Rams jumped out to a 24-11 lead at the end of one. NBC won the 2nd quarter 16-13 to make it a 37-27 game at halftime.
The Tigers won the 3rd quarter 18-15 to close within 7 at 52-45 at the end of three.
Both teams scored 17 points in the 4th quarter.
Not sure if the two are related, but a tough ending to the Oakland-Craig game and a fast start by Glenwood were the differences in those games there's no doubt about it.
North Bend Central (10-3) plays host to Wisner-Pilger (6-9) Thursday night.
The Gators won 56-50 at home over Pender Thursday night.
The Tigers should be able to bounce back with a win in this one after a couple of losses to two great teams.
NBC has to come out with their hair on fire at the start of this one, and must take it to Wisner-Pilger for four quarters.
The Tigers need a big, dominant win prior to the start of the East Husker Conference Tournament.
This is the game for North Bend Central to get back on track before Conference Tournament Action starts, and the Tigers must take advantage.
I have a feeling NBC is going to be a bit angry given what happened on Thursday and on Saturday.
I fully expect the Tigers to come out and play well and with a chip on their shoulder.
The North Bend Central Girls picked up a big 56-39 win at home over Oakland-Craig Thursday night.
The Tigers went up 18-12 at the end of one. Both teams scored 13 2nd quarter points, and NBC held a 31-25 halftime advantage.
The Tigers won the 3rd quarter 11-8 to go up 42-33 at the end of three.
North Bend Central outscored the Knights 14-6 in the 4th quarter.
Sydney Emanuel led the way with 15 points and 8 rebounds while Kaitlyn Emanuel notched 14 points and 14 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Cierra Kluthe added 10 points while Ally Pojar scored 7 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.
Fast start and a strong second half led to the win for the Tigers.
North Bend Central (12-1) hosts Wisner-Pilger (7-9) Thursday night.
The Gators upset Pender 40-36 at home Thursday night.
That's the same Pendragon team that upset the Tigers 59-52 at home back on January 8th.
Wisner-Pilger is an improved team from last year, and should have North Bend Central's attention.
The Tigers need another dominant win prior to the beginning of the East Husker Conference Tournament.
The Gators have been blown out some this year, and I could see that being one of those type games in this one.
If North Bend Central plays up to their full potential and the way they are capable of then I think they could very well run away with things.
But if the Tigers struggle to hit shots and let Wisner-Pilger hang around that's when they could get into trouble.
