North Bend Central Boys and Girls beat Arlington

The North Bend Central Boys defeated Arlington 54-48 at home Tuesday night.

Not a pretty win by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a win and I'm sure the Tigers will take it.

North Bend Central (8-1) takes on Fremont Bergan (7-5) on the road Saturday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Knights lost 41-37 at Arlington on Saturday of last week.

Bergan has lost five out of their last six and six out of their last eight since starting the season 5-0.

I look for the Tigers to win a close and entertaining ball game.

I feel like the Knights will definitely challenge NBC and make a game of it, but in the end I feel the Tigers will be too strong for Bergan.

Either way it should be a fun one for you Saturday night on the Bull.

The North Bend Central Girls waxed Arlington 60-17 at home Tuesday night.

The Tigers led the Eagles 16-6 at the end of one, and outscored Arlington 17-3 in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-9 lead into the locker room.

NBC outscored the Eagles 13-1 in the 3rd quarter to go up 46-10 at the end of three.

The Tigers doubled up Arlington 14-7 in the 4th quarter.

Kaitlyn Emanuel had 16 points to lead the way while Hannah Williams notched 14. Sydney Emanuel added 13 while Ally Pojar totaled 11.

Great rebound win following the loss at Pender last Friday.

North Bend Central (9-1) travels to Fremont Bergan (9-3) to take on the Knights on Saturday in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

Bergan fell 65-37 at GACC Thursday night.

That's the same Bluejay team that the Tigers beat 67-38 in the first round of the North Bend Holiday Tournament on December 28th.

The Knights have some nice wins, but have lost to elite competition so far this year.

North Bend Central is elite, and I look for the Tigers to roll into Fremont and take care of business come Saturday.

Prior to Bergan's game against GACC on Thursday night I thought this one would be a nail biter, but that may not be the case now.

Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on the Bull, but the game could start as early as 4:30.
