Howells-Dodge Boys 2-0 in last two games; Girls 1-2 in last three

The Howells-Dodge Boys won 61-45 at home over Humphrey St. Francis last Friday night before defeating Plainview 67-27 on the road Saturday.

In the St. Francis game, both teams scored 11 points in the 1st quarter. The Jaguars outscored the Flyers 13-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 24-15 lead into the locker room.

St. Francis won the 3rd quarter 15-11 to make it a 35-30 game at the end of three.

Howells-Dodge outscored the Flyers 26-15 in the 4th quarter.

The Jaguars doubled up the Pirates 12-6 in the 1st quarter, and outscored Plainview 21-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-12 lead into the locker room.

Howells-Dodge outscored the Pirates 21-6 in the 3rd quarter to go up 54-18 at the end of three.

The Jaguars won the 4th quarter 13-9.

Two great wins for Howells-Dodge.

The Jaguars (8-4) host Mead (7-2) on Saturday.

The Raiders won 44-37 at home over Weeping Water Tuesday night.

Howells-Dodge beat Mead 56-37 back on December 30th in the Mead Holiday Tournament Championship.

The Jaguars should make it two in a row, especially being at home.

Howells-Dodge is on a complete tear right now and I don't see them slowing down anytime soon.

In fact, I think the Jaguars have a shot to win the rest of their games prior to the start of the East Husker Conference Tournament.

The Howells-Dodge Girls fell 75-33 at home to Humphrey St. Francis last Friday night before winning 36-28 at Plainview on Saturday. The Jaguars then fell 52-47 at Lutheran High Northeast Tuesday night.

The Flyers got out to a 30-9 lead at the end of one, and outscored Howells-Dodge 27-11 in the 2nd quarter to take a 57-20 lead into the locker room.

St. Francis won the 3rd quarter 15-11 to go up 72-31 at the end of three.

The Flyers won the 4th quarter 3-2.

Brooklyn Macholan had 8 points while Jaedyn Ratzlaff totaled 7.

The Jaguars tripled up the Pirates 6-2 in the 1st quarter. Plainview won the 2nd quarter 6-4 to make it a 10-8 game at halftime.

Howells-Dodge won the 3rd quarter 11-7 to go up 21-15 at the end of three.

The Jaguars won the 4th quarter 15-13.

Cassie Pieper had 13 points while Janessa Schmidt totaled 11. Ratzlaff added 8 while Macholan posted 8 rebounds.

Tough loss on Friday, but a better effort on Tuesday.

Howells-Dodge (6-7) plays host to Mead (9-3) on Saturday.

The Raiders won 57-20 at home over Boys Town Thursday night.

The Jaguars beat Mead 60-15 in the Mead Holiday Tournament Championship Game on December 30th.

I look for Howells-Dodge to win again on Saturday.

I think the loss to St. Francis kind of carried over to the Plainview game, but felt Tuesday's game went better for the Jaguars.

So with that said, I think Howells-Dodge will pick up another big win over Mead on Saturday.
