The Stanton Boys won 73-60 over Hartington-Newcastle last Monday at their own Holiday Tournament before falling 66-37 to Lutheran High Northeast in the Championship Game last Wednesday. The Mustangs then lost 73-49 at home to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on Saturday.

Stanton won the 4th quarter 15-10.

Joe Butterfield had 12 points while Krusemark totaled 11 points and 8 rebounds. Ben Butterfield added 9 points.

Two losses to a couple of a really good teams the last two games.

Stanton (2-8) plays host to Oakland-Craig (11-2) Friday night.

The Knights won 58-51 at GACC Tuesday night.

The Mustangs have to come out and play the way they did in the first half against Hartington-Newcastle.

Stanton has to try and jump on Oakland-Craig early and force the Knights to play from behind.

The Mustangs have to execute the game plan and play to the best of their ability.

Beating Oakland-Craig will be a very difficult and tall task, but Stanton has to play and expect to win as opposed to playing not to lose.

The Stanton Girls won 42-29 over Hartington-Newscastle last Monday at their own Holiday Tournament before falling 55-28 to Lutheran High Northeast in last Wednesday's Championship Game. The Mustangs then lost 69-48 at home to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on Saturday.

Stanton led the Wildcats 13-6 after one. Hartington-Newcastle won the 2nd quarter 8-6 to make it a 19-14 game at halftime.

The Bulldogs went up 19-10 at the end of one, and outscored the Mustangs 21-13 in the 2nd quarter to take a 40-23 lead into the locker room.

H/LHF won the 3rd quarter 19-13 to extend their lead to 59-36 at the end of three.

Stanton won the 4th quarter 12-10.

I thought the Mustangs played better against the Bulldogs than they have in other games this year.

Stanton (2-9) plays host to Oakland-Craig (7-4) Friday night.

O-C won 55-52 at home over Elmwood-Murdock on Saturday.

I think this game could be close and respectable.

I don't see the Knights blowing the Mustangs out of the water.

I think this game will be a relatively low scoring and defensive battle.

Stanton has to come out and play a good game and try and do some good things in this contest.

The Mustangs have to grow as players and people in this game, and leave it all out on the court.

Stanton has to get fired up and give it all they got and give Oakland-Craig their best shot.
