The Pender Boys went 0-3 at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout last week, losing 69-43 to Hartington Cedar Catholic last Monday at WSC, 64-41 last Wednesday to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at Wayne High, and 85-42 to Winnebago in the 7th place game on Thursday, also at Wayne High. The Pendragons won 50-36 at Wynot Monday night, picking up their first victory of the season.

The Trojans led 14-13 after one, and outscored Pender 19-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-23 lead into the locker room.

Cedar Catholic won the 3rd quarter 20-15 to increase their lead to 53-38 at the end of three.

The Trojans outscored the Pendragons 16-5 in the 4th quarter.

Pender won the 3rd quarter 11-8 to extend their lead to 38-29 at the end of three.

The Pendragons won the 4th quarter 12-7.

Good win for Pender on Monday. Just picking up a win can do a lot for a team, increase their confidence, and lead to bigger things.

The Pendragons (1-8) take on GACC (2-8) on the road Thursday night.

The Bluejays lost 58-51 at home to Oakland-Craig Tuesday night.

Certainly a challenge to go into the Jays' Nest and win, but it can be done.

If Pender plays poised and confident like they did on Monday then they could very well come away with a win.

GACC has been close their last two games though, and always play a tough schedule.

The Holiday Tournaments these two teams were in did them no favors, but both teams have bounced back nicely so far after the New Year.

We'll see if the Pendragons can turn in another solid performance on Thursday and pick up their second win of the season.

The Pender Girls went 2-1 at the Wayne Holiday Tournament, beating Hartington Cedar Catholic 53-29 at Wayne High last Monday before falling 57-31 to Pierce last Wednesday at WSC. The Pendragons then won 71-17 over Wayne in the 3rd place game at WSC on Thursday. Pender also picked up a 45-33 win at Wynot Monday night.

The Pendragons stormed out to a 21-9 lead at the end of one on the Trojans. Cedar Catholic tripled up Pender 6-2 in the 2nd quarter to make it a 23-15 game at halftime.

The Pendragons outscored the Trojans 18-4 in the 3rd quarter to go up 41-19 at the end of three.

Pender won the 4th quarter 12-10.

The Bluejays led 13-7 after one before outscoring the Pendragons 20-9 in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-16 lead into the locker room.

Pierce outscored Pender 17-9 in the 3rd quarter to go up 50-25 at the end of three.

The Bluejays won the 4th quarter 7-6.

The Pendragons got out to a 28-4 lead on Wayne after one. Pender outscored the Blue Devils 25-7 in the 2nd quarter to take a 53-11 lead into the locker room.

The Pendragons won the 3rd quarter 10-3 to go up 63-14 at the end of three.

Pender won the 4th quarter 8-3.

Great play from the Pendragons other than in the Pierce game.

Pender (9-3) plays host to North Bend Central (8-0) Friday night.

The Tigers won 63-23 at Raymond Central on Saturday.

A huge challenge and opportunity in front of the Pendragons.

Win or lose Pender still benefits from playing C-1's best.

Playing North Bend Central will only help the Pendragons come postseason time.

Pender has to come out and play like this game is to go to State or win the Conference though.

Emulate that postseason feel and create a postseason and championship atmosphere.

The Pendragons have to be excited and fired up, especially now that they get to play up to a half full gym.
