The Stanton Boys lost 60-33 at home Oakland-Craig Friday night before losing 58-31 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on Saturday, and 57-54 at Elkhorn Valley Tuesday night.
The Knights led 16-7 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 11-8 to take a 27-15 lead into the locker room.
Oakland-Craig outscored the Mustangs 17-6 in the 3rd quarter to up the advantage to 44-21 at the end of three.
The Knights won the 4th quarter 16-12.
Parker Krusemark and Ben Butterfield each had 8 points while Owen Vogel pulled down 7 rebounds.
LVSS got out to a 23-9 lead at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 11-7 to take a 34-16 lead into the locker room.
The Raiders outscored Stanton 14-8 in the 3rd quarter to build a 48-24 lead at the end of three.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder won the 4th quarter 10-7.
Butterfield led the way with 12 points.
The Mustangs led the Falcons 10-6 after one. Elkhorn Valley outscored Stanton 15-8 in the 2nd quarter to build a 21-18 halftime advantage.
The Mustangs won the 3rd quarter 18-16 to cut the deficit to a single point at 37-36 at the end of three.
The Falcons won the 4th quarter 20-18.
Brennan Wragge led the way with 14 points while Abe Larson and Parker Krusemark each totaled 12. Adam Arens added 8 points and 7 rebounds while Kam Dusatko pitched in 11 rebounds.
Great effort from Stanton on Tuesday.
The Mustangs (2-11) play host to Plainview (4-8) Thursday night.
The Pirates lost 67-27 at home to Howells-Dodge on Saturday.
The Jaguars beat Stanton 71-28 in the season opener.
So based on those scores you would have to give Plainview the slight advantage as I feel Howells-Dodge is playing better now than they were then.
Still though, the Mustangs have to look at this game as one they can get as they appear to be playing better right now.
Stanton came up a little short at Elkhorn Valley on Tuesday, but perhaps the Mustangs can get over the hump in this one.
Stanton is at home and has to play with a sense of urgency and purpose.
The Mustangs have to put everything they have into this game and do whatever it takes to come away with a win.
Stanton has to play with the Heart of a Champion, and leave it all out on the floor.
The Stanton Girls fell 50-28 at home to Oakland-Craig Friday night before winning 67-64 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder in Overtime on Saturday only to lose 47-42 at Elkhorn Valley Tuesday night.
The Knights doubled up the Mustangs 12-6 in the 1st quarter. Oakland-Craig won the 2nd quarter 17-13 to extend their lead to 29-19 at halftime.
The Knights won the 3rd quarter 10-7 to increase their lead to 39-26 at the end of three.
Oakland-Craig outscored Stanton 11-2 in the 4th quarter.
Sylvia Cunningham had 14 points and 7 rebounds.
The Mustangs went up 15-11 on the Raiders at the end of one. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outscored Stanton 17-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 28-25 lead into the locker room.
The Raiders outscored the Mustangs 16-9 in the 3rd quarter to go up by 10 at 44-34 at the end of three.
Stanton rallied in the 4th quarter, outscoring Stanton 22-12 to tie the game at 56 and send it into OT.
The Mustangs outlasted LVSS 11-8 in the extra session.
Cunningham led the way with a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds while Kinley Pohlman had 13 points, 16 rebounds, and 9 assists, also good enough for a double-double. Bridgett Jensen added 11 points while Savannah Siebrandt notched 10.
The Falcons went up 16-13 after one. Stanton won the 2nd quarter 9-8 to make it a 24-22 game at halftime.
Elkhorn Valley won the 3rd quarter 14-12 to increase their lead to 38-34 at the end of three.
The Falcons won the 4th quarter 9-8.
Siebrandt led the way with 15 points while Cunningham added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Pohlman recorded 8 rebounds.
Great effort and game by Stanton on Saturday, and a good and valiant effort on Tuesday.
The Mustangs (3-11) play host to Plainview (7-6) Thursday night.
The Pirates lost 36-28 at home to Howells-Dodge on Saturday.
The Jaguars defeated Stanton 64-32 in the Mustangs' season opener.
Stanton has come on a little bit here lately though.
The Mustangs were in the game through 3 quarters against Oakland-Craig, and then made a great comeback on Saturday, and played well on Tuesday.
I think Stanton can get this one on Thursday.
The Mustangs have Madison and Twin River coming up before the EHC Tournament so more opportunities for wins for Stanton.
The Mustangs have a real opportunity to get on track before the Conference Tournament, and must take advantage.
Stanton has to watch out for Pirate Freshman Abbie Kromarek.
