BRLD Boys 3-0 in last three games; Girls 4-0 in last four

The BRLD Boys Basketball Team remains perfect as the Wolverines won 64-26 over Homer at the Homer Holiday Tournament on Saturday, December 28th before winning the Championship over GACC on Monday, 52-34. The Wolverines also beat Ponca 64-46 on the road Friday night.

The Wolverines led the Knights 20-6 at the end of one, and outscored Homer 16-5 in the 2nd quarter to take a 36-11 lead into the locker room.

BRLD won the 3rd quarter 18-10 to extend their lead to 54-21 at the end of three.

The Wolverines doubled up Homer 10-5 in the 4th quarter.

The Wolverines and Bluejays were tied at 8 after one. BRLD won the 2nd quarter 17-11 to go up 25-19 at the break.

Both teams scored 10 points in the 3rd quarter, and the Wolverines led 36-29 at the end of three.

GACC outscored BRLD 17-5 in the 4th quarter.

Beutler had a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds while Darwin Snyder totaled 9 points. Johnson compiled 11 rebounds.

The Wolverines outscored the Indians 20-9 in the 1st quarter, and won the 2nd quarter 20-18 to take a 40-27 lead into the locker room.

BRLD outscored Ponca 13-7 in the 3rd quarter to go up 53-34 at the end of three.

The Indians won the 4th quarter 12-11.

Beutler had 23 points and 8 rebounds while Lucas Vogt totaled 14 points and 7 assists. Snyder added 13 points while Gatzemeyer posted 11.

Great wins for the Wolverines, who are now at full strength with Vogt back.

BRLD (8-0) battles Pierce (5-4) at the CNOS Classic in Sioux City on Friday.

The Bluejays beat Class A South Sioux City 62-58 at the Knight Classic last time out.

The Wolverines should be able to win this one I would think.

Pierce is a good, solid team, but BRLD is a great team.

The Wolverines appear to be unstoppable this year.

This is a game that should be a fun and unique experience for BRLD.

The Wolverines get to play a game at the Tyson Events Center against a familiar foe.

I think this game is good exposure for BRLD.

People from Iowa will get to see what the Wolverines are made of and all about.

BRLD is a great team, and the Wolverines are having another remarkable season so far.

There's a lot of big games on the horizon coming up for BRLD, but the Wolverines have to feel pretty confident in themselves this year.

BRLD is going to be tough for anyone to beat.

I look for the Bluejays to give the Wolverines a tough battle, but I think BRLD will simply be too much for Pierce.

I just feel like the Wolverines have too many weapons and firepower.

BRLD has to keep doing what they've been doing, and if they do that then they should be just fine.

The Wolverines might be unbeatable this year, we will see.

There are man tough games and opponents coming up, but BRLD is an amazing team.

Repeating would be a huge deal, and the Wolverines are perfect so far.

BRLD has had a couple of close games this year, but for the most part has been pretty dominant against everyone they have played.

The BRLD Girls won 56-39 over Homer at the Homer Holiday Tournament on Saturday, December 28th before winning 60-50 over GACC in the Championship Game last Monday. The Wolverines also won 54-48 at Ponca Friday night, and 52-43 at Pender on Saturday.

BRLD and Homer were tied at 12 after one and at 24 at halftime.

The Wolverines outscored the Knights 19-6 in the 3rd quarter to go up 43-30 at the end of three.

BRLD won the 4th quarter 13-9.

GACC led the Wolverines 15-14 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 14-11 to take a 29-25 lead into the locker room.

BRLD outscored the Bluejays 17-10 in the 3rd quarter to go in front 42-39 at the end of three.

The Wolverines outscored GACC 18-11 in the 4th quarter.

BRLD held a 16-15 lead on the Indians at the end of one. Ponca outscored the Wolverines 12-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 27-18 lead into the locker room.

BRLD outscored the Indians 15-6 in the 3rd quarter to tie the game at 33 at the end of three.

The Wolverines won the 4th quarter 21-15.

BRLD held a 23-20 halftime lead on the Pendragons.

Great play from the Wolverines. Winning the Holiday Tournament was a huge deal.

BRLD (11-0) hosts West Point-Beemer (7-3) on Saturday.

The Cadets beat Fremont Bergan 45-32 at home Thursday night.

West Point-Beemer has really come on lately as they have won 5 out of their last 6.

You know the Cadets will be looking for payback after the Wolverines handed them their first loss of the season last year.

It will be interesting to see what happens as it should be a heck of a game.

You have to wonder what West Point-Beemer will have left in the tank as it will be their 4th game in 5 days.

If the game is low scoring I think it favors the Cadets.

But if BRLD is able to get out and run and push tempo then advantage Wolverines.

Both teams figure to play pretty strong defense, but I think BRLD's offense could be the difference in the game.

The Wolverines score the ball better than West Point-Beemer, in my opinion.

But if BRLD has an off game shooting the ball like the Cadets did against the Wolverines last year then BRLD could lose.

The good thing for the Wolverines is they've had the whole week to get ready for West Point-Beemer.

No other game to worry about...BRLD can simply focus on the Cadets.

This is the start of a tough stretch of games for the Wolverines, but the good news is all the games are at home.

I look for BRLD to continue to step up and play well, and keep building upon the great things they have already done this year.

The Wolverines are having a fantastic season, and have to keep things going on Saturday.

It should be an exciting, action packed game, and I'm very excited to see how it turns out.

It's a game that I feel could truly go either way.
