Clarkson/Leigh Boys 0-3 in last three games; Girls 3-0
The Clarkson/Leigh Boys Basketball Team fell 58-50 at home to Twin River last Thursday night before falling 56-31 at Lutheran High Northeast Friday night, and 72-38 at home to Wisner-Pilger Tuesday night.
The Patriots got out to a 9-7 lead on the Titans at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 16-14 to take a 25-21 lead into the locker room.
Clarkson/Leigh won the 3rd quarter 12-11 to extend their lead to 37-32 at the end of three.
Twin River doubled up the Patriots 26-13 in the 4th quarter.
Jarred Novotny had 25 points while Lance Paprocki notched 11. Carter Hanel added 9 rebounds.
The Eagles led 16-15 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 11-9 to go up 27-24 at halftime.
LHNE won the 2nd quarter 8-3 to extend their lead to 35-27 at the end of three.
The Eagles outscored the Patriots 21-4 in the 4th quarter.

The Gators won the 4th quarter 17-14.
Novotny had 9 points while Paprocki totaled 8. Hanel once again pulled down 9 rebounds.
The 4th quarter was very unkind to Clarkson/Leigh on Thursday and Friday.
The Patriots (5-10) take on Howells-Dodge (10-6) at Wisner-Pilger on Saturday in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament.
The Jaguars lost 53-32 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Tuesday night in action that was aired on 107.9 the Bull.
The two teams met on Saturday, December 21st at Howells-Dodge with the Jaguars winning 77-61.
I look for this game to be close and come down to the wire.
I feel the contest could definitely come down to the 4th quarter for Clarkson/Leigh once again.
The Patriots struggled to finish against both the Titans and Eagles so I'm sure they would love to win this one on Saturday.
The game is against a rival and it's the East Husker Conference Tournament.
Howells-Dodge really struggled through 3 quarters against the Raiders, an if Clarkson/Leigh can build a big enough lead in the first 24 minutes of play it might be enough.
The Jaguars played a good 4th quarter against LVSS so that's something the Patriots have to be wary of.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. due to wrestling at Wisner-Pilger earlier in the day.
It makes for a long day and night, but Clarkson/Leigh has to go out there and be ready to play a great game for 4 quarters.
Hanel has to get back to his ways offensively, and continue to be a beast on the boards.
The Patriots just have to find that extra gear late in games that teams have been finding against them lately.
Clarkson/Leigh has to get off to a good start and finish strong.
I feel those two things are the key to a Patriot win.
Clarkson/Leigh has to go out there and play their game and put forth a great and fantastic effort on Saturday.
The Patriots have it in them to go out there and beat the Jaguars they just have to simply make it happen.
The Clarkson/Leigh Girls won 58-25 at home over Twin River last Thursday night before downing Lutheran High Northeast 50-45 on the road Friday night, and Wisner-Pilger 49-39 at home Tuesday night.
The Patriots got out to a 15-3 lead on the Titans at the end of one, and outscored Twin River 16-7 in the 2nd quarter to take a 31-10 lead into the locker room.
Clarkson/Leigh won the 3rd quarter 11-9 to extend their lead to 42-19 at the end of three.
The Patriots outscored the Titans 16-6 in the 4th quarter.
Cassidy Hoffman had 13 points and 9 rebounds while Kayden Schumacher totaled 11 points and 7 rebounds. Kennedy Settje added 9 points while Bailey Lemburg posted 7. Ashlynn Novotny compiled 9 rebounds.
The Eagles raced out to an 18-10 lead on Clarkson/Leigh at the end of one. The Patriots outscored LHNE 14-8 in the 2nd quarter to make it a 26-24 game at halftime.
Clarkson/Leigh won the 3rd quarter 9-8 to cut the deficit to 1 at 34-33 at the end of three.
The Patriots outscored the Eagles 17-11 in the 4th quarter.
Schumacher led the way with 16 points while Hoffman totaled 12 points and 7 rebounds. Settje added 9 points.
The Patriots led Wisner-Pilger 13-12 at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 14-12 to take a 27-24 lead into the locker room.
Clarkson/Leigh outscored the Gators 12-5 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 39-29 at the end of three.
Both teams scored 10 points in the 4th quarter.
Hoffman had 13 points while Novotny notched 12 and Settje 10.
Pretty good play overall from the Patriots in these contests.
Clarkson/Leigh (13-4) plays host to Stanton (5-12) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament Friday night.
The Mustangs lost 52-48 at home to Twin River Tuesday night.
The Patriots beat Stanton in last year's Conference Tournament, and I look for Clarkson/Leigh to do it once again this year.
The Mustangs had been playing better basketball prior to Saturday's loss to BRLD.
A loss to the Titans has to be a tough pill to swallow.
Stanton will come out and give the Patriots their best shot though, that much you can pretty much count on.
Clarkson/Leigh has to be ready to go because as the Patriots found out against Pender, no lead is safe and anyone can be beat.
Clarkson/Leigh should win, but there's not a huge margin for error for the Patriots.
I think this game could be closer than some might think it will be, but I could also see Clarkson/Leigh rolling in this one.
The Patriots haven't been a super dominant team this year, but they have been consistent and rock solid.
Clarkson/Leigh isn't the most flashy team out there, but they simply know how to win and get the job done.
I look for the Patriots to play another good game Friday night and turn in an outstanding performance.
A win over Stanton would give Clarkson/Leigh a matchup at North Bend Central on Monday.
The Tigers would be very difficult for the Patriots to beat as I feel Clarkson/Leigh could have a tough time matching up against NBC's height, but I do feel those teams matchup well from a style of play standpoint, much like Stanton and Clarkson/Leigh.
First things first though, the Patriots have to worry about taking care of business against the Mustangs.
