Emerson-Hubbard Boys and Girls lose to Homer

The Emerson-Hubbard Boys Basketball Team fell 62-48 at home to Homer Tuesday night.

The Knights led 12-10 after the 1st quarter, and doubled up the Pirates 16-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 28-18 lead into the locker room.

Homer won the 3rd quarter 16-10 to go up 44-28 at the end of three.

The Pirates won the 4th quarter 20-18.

Tough loss for Emerson-Hubbard, but I thought the Pirates played better.

Emerson-Hubbard (2-9) is scheduled to host Osmond (12-0) in a makeup game Thursday night.

The Tigers won 66-24 at home over Bloomfield Tuesday night.

The Pirates fell 52-25 to the Bees so it will be interesting to see what happens Thursday night.

It has been a tough season overall for Emerson-Hubbard, but I thought the Pirates played better against Homer despite the loss.

It was definitely a tough loss and I know the Pirates aren't about moral victories, but it is something to build off of.

This game against Osmond is another game to build off of too.

If Emerson-Hubbard can compete and narrow the scoring gap compared to some other games then I think that will serve as positive momentum heading forward.

I think the Pirates have a chance to make some hay prior to the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament.

I really think Emerson-Hubbard has a chance to do well over these next couple of weeks, and improve.

Drastic improvement is needed before season's end for the Pirates to go on a run and do what they did at the end of last year, but it can definitely happen.

Emerson-Hubbard just has to stay the course and believe.

The Pirates have suffered some really tough losses this year, yet despite all that appear as if they are bouncing back and continuing to fight.

Emerson-Hubbard has to keep fighting and bouncing back and must stay the course.

The Pirates have to come out and play a great game Thursday night, and show Osmond what they are made of.

Emerson-Hubbard has to get off to a fast start and try and not let the Tigers take control of the game early.

If the Pirates can hang around and keep things close then they could set themselves up for a strong finish at the end.

We will see what happens, but I feel like Emerson-Hubbard has a chance to do better than they have in some of their other games this season.

The Emerson-Hubbard Girls lost 60-13 at home to Homer Tuesday night.

The Knights went up 26-4 at the end of one, and outscored the Pirates 9-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 35-6 lead into the locker room.

Homer outscored Emerson-Hubbard 17-2 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 52-8 at the end of three.

The Knights won the 4th quarter 8-5.

Addison Mackling and Brynn Schock totaled 8 rebounds apiece.

Great effort from the Pirates.

Emerson-Hubbard (1-11) is scheduled to host Osmond (6-6) Thursday night.

The Tigers won 39-29 at home over Bloomfield Tuesday night.

The Pirates lost 63-21 to the Bees on opening night so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Emerson-Hubbard has really struggled this year, but the Pirates have to keep a positive outlook on things.

The odds may be stacked against the Pirates, but Emerson-Hubbard has to go out there and fight and battle and persevere.

The Pirates have to overcome all odds and obstacles.

Emerson-Hubbard has to give Osmond their best shot and do everything in their power to beat the Tigers.

The Pirates have really had a tough and rough go of things this year, but Emerson-Hubbard has to remain positive.

It's not easy getting beat the way the Pirates have this year, but Emerson-Hubbard has to find a way to learn and grow from it all.

The Pirates need to keep going at it hard in practice everyday and must give it everything they've got right down to the very end.

Emerson-Hubbard can't be negative and dwell on the past.

The Pirates have to look forward and think about what they can do in the future.

The past is the past, and each and every game is a new day and new opportunity to shine and do great things.

Emerson-Hubbard has to find that light Thursday night against Osmond, and give something extra against the Tigers.

The Pirates have to play extraordinarily well and play remarkable basketball on both offense and defense.

Emerson-Hubbard has to excel at the fundamental parts of the game, and go out and make plays that are mind blowing.

The Pirates have to electrify the crowd and be extraordinary.
