Winnebago Boys and Girls 2-2 in last four games

The Winnebago Boys Basketball Team won 81-39 over Neligh-Oakdale in the Shootout on the Elkhorn Holiday Tournament in Wisner last Monday, and 66-60 over Wakefield at the Shootout last Tuesday before falling 69-61 at Norfolk Catholic Friday night, and 58-56 at home to O'Neill Tuesday night.

The Indians led the Eagles 16-9 after one. Winnebago outscored O'Neill 22-15 in the 2nd quarter to take a 38-24 lead into the locker room.

The Eagles outscored the Indians 13-4 in the 3rd quarter to make it a 42-37 game at the end of three.

O'Neill won the 4th quarter 21-14.

Great wins in the Holiday Tournament for Winnebago, but the Indians slipped against the Knights and Eagles.

Winnebago (3-6) hosts Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (8-2) Friday night.

The Bears won 71-46 at home over Bloomfield Tuesday night.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is a great team, and the Indians definitely have their work cut out for them in this game.

The Bears beat Ponca by 25, and that is really saying something.

If Winnebago can get back to playing the type of ball they played in the Holiday Tournament then they could definitely upset Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

I'm not sure what happened in the second half against O'Neill, but you can bet Winnebago will be out to right the ship Friday night.

This game is a huge opportunity for the Indians to perform at a high level and get back on track.

Winnebago has to step up and play up to their potential Friday night.

The Indians need to rise to the occasion and play Winnebago Basketball for four quarters, and really get after things.

The Indians have to get up and down the floor and play great defense as well.

I feel defense has kind of let Winnebago down so far this year.

I also think the offense has been a bit inconsistent.

I think finding offensive and defensive consistency is important for the Indians.

Winnebago has to come out ready to rock and roll and smash from the get go Friday night.

The Indians have to come out high flying and ready to play hard and smart.

Winnebago has to take the fight to the Bears for four quarters, and try and come out on top.

The Indians have a very tall task in front of them, but a win is definitely not out of the realm of possibility for Winnebago.

I think it's all about the Indians playing up to their potential and performing at a high level like they did in the Holiday Tournament.

The Winnebago Girls won 78-49 over Wakefield-Allen at the Shootout on the Elkhorn Holiday Tournament in Wisner last Monday before falling 66-47 to Ponca in the Tournament last Tuesday. The Indians also lost 55-53 at Norfolk Catholic Friday night before winning 64-57 at home over O'Neill Tuesday night.

The Indians led the Trojans 18-12 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 13-9 to take a 31-21 lead into the locker room.

Winnebago won the 3rd quarter 21-15 to go up 52-36 at the end of three.

The Indians doubled up Wakefield/Allen 26-13 in the 4th quarter.

Maddy Cleveland had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds while Keisha Snyder also had a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds. Jayla Price added 15 points and 7 rebounds while Natasha Deal had 12 points.

Ponca led Winnebago 15-10 after one, and outscored them 25-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 40-20 lead into the locker room.

Winnebago won the 3rd quarter 11-10 make it a 50-31 game at the end of three.

Both teams scored 16 points in the 4th quarter.

Snyder led the team with 13 points while Price notched 10. Deal and Sinya Harlan added 7 apiece.

The Knights led 12-8 at the end of one. Norfolk Catholic outscored the Indians 18-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 30-16 lead into the locker room.

Winnebago won the 3rd quarter 19-13 make it a 43-35 game at the end of three.

The Indians also won the 4th quarter 18-12.

Price had 18 points while Snyder totaled 11 points and 15 rebounds. Deal added 10 points.

Winnebago and O'Neill were tied at 10 at the end of one. The Indians won the 2nd quarter 18-15 to take a 28-25 lead into the locker room.

Both Winnebago and O'Neill scored 15 points in the 3rd quarter, and the Indians led 43-40 at the end of three.

Winnebago won the 4th quarter 21-17.

Snyder poured in 27 points and 16 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Deal notched 12 points while Price chipped in 11.

Great production from Cleveland, Price, Deal, and Snyder over the last four games.

Winnebago (6-4) plays host to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (6-4) Friday night.

The Bears won 61-29 at home over Bloomfield Tuesday night.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has lost to some good teams.

One of their losses was a one-point loss to Arlington.

This figures to be a very tight and hotly contested game.

I think the Indians win since they are at home and are the bigger school, but anything can happen.

Cleveland, Snyder, Deal, and Price all need to be on top of their games once again for Winnebago.

The Indians rely so much on them to produce, and the majority if not all of them need to step up and play well Friday night.

Winnebago has a big stretch of games coming up so the Indians need to do well against the Bears and Emerson-Hubbard to get ready for Wynot, Ponca, and BRLD.

The Indians have been blown out a couple times this year, but have also come very close to beating a couple of powers.

Winnebago is a good, solid team, and should be proud of how far they've come and where they are at right now.

The Indians have to want more though.

Winnebago has to aspire to be great and do big things.

The Indians can definitely be great and do great things too they just need to put their minds and hearts to it.

I think Winnebago is definitely on the right path to success and things of that nature so the Indians have to keep doing what they've been doing and not let up.

Winnebago has to get ready to put on a show Friday night.

The Indians have to Wow the crowd and do their thing and show people what Winnebago Girls Basketball is all about.

It should be a heck of a game on Friday, and the Indians have to get fired up and excited for the contest.
