Oakland-Craig Boys and Girls rout Stanton and Elmwood-Murdock

UPDATE:

Both games have been postponed. Games will be played in Lyons on Saturday with the girls game starting at 2:00 p.m. Both games can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Oakland-Craig Boys Basketball Team steamrolled Stanton 61-26 at home Friday night, and won 56-30 at Elmwood-Murdock on Saturday.

The Knights went up 17-9 on the Mustangs at the end of one, and quadrupled up Stanton 20-5 in the 2nd quarter to take a 37-14 lead into the locker room.

Oakland-Craig outscored the Mustangs 11-2 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 48-16 at the end of three.

The Knights won the 4th quarter 13-10.

Wyatt Seagren had 13 points and 7 rebounds while Colton Thomsen notched 10 points. Carson Thomsen and Gunnar Ray each totaled 8 points while Blake Johnson posted 7.

Oakland-Craig tripled up Elmwood-Murdock 15-5 in the 1st quarter. Elmwood-Murdock won the 2nd quarter 10-6 to make it a 21-15 game at halftime.

O-C outscored Elmwood-Murdock 16-7 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 37-22 at the end of three.

Oakland-Craig outscored Elmwood-Murdock 19-8 in the 4th quarter.

Colton Thomsen registered 20 points while Ray had 13. Ian Lundquist recorded 10 while Seagren compiled 9 rebounds.

Two dominating wins for Oakland-Craig.

The Knights (12-2) are scheduled to playing defending C-2 State Champ BRLD (11-0) in Lyons Friday night in action to be aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Wolverines dominated Tekamah-Herman 73-29 at home Tuesday night.

This should be one heck of a game if it's played.

I'm thinking it might be too since Lyons and Oakland are only 7 miles apart.

It probably depends what it does in Bancroft too though and if any of the schools cancel classes for Friday.

I hope this game gets played because it's one that I've been looking forward to all year.

Primetime game on the Bull in Lyons, doesn't get any better than that.

And the girls game too....I mean both games are going to be great.

The Knights could very well be undefeated themselves if it hadn't been for the long football season.

Both of these teams are amazing, and it should be a great game if it's played.

I'm sure it will get played at some point, but it could be a situation where it's made up after a postponement.

We'll see what happens, but I sure hope the game gets played on Friday.

The most important thing when the weather is bad is safety though.

It's simply not worth risking it if the weather is bad.

It will be interesting to see what Mother Nature decides to dump on the area in terms of snow and ice and if the forecast is accurate.

We may not know more until the morning, but the players, coaches, and fans should be ready for anything.

Everyone will simply have to adapt and adjust if the game is postponed/cancelled due to the weather.

Alternate plans indoors would have to be made.

You always want to play if possible, but if the games are called off then there's always video games and TV.

The Oakland-Craig Girls won 61-13 at home over Stanton Friday night before drilling Elmwood-Murdock 58-33 on the road Saturday.

The Knights led Stanton 16-2 after one, and outscored the Mustangs 31-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 47-6 lead into the locker room.

Oakland-Craig won the 3rd quarter 7-4 to extend their lead to 54-10 at the end of three.

The Knights won the 4th quarter 7-3.

Kennedy Benne led all players with 26 points while Sydney Guzinski notched 11.

Oakland-Craig went up 18-3 on Elmwood-Murdock at the end of one. O-C won the 2nd quarter 8-6 to take a 26-9 lead into the locker room.

Oakland-Craig won the 3rd quarter 10-7 to extend their lead to 36-16 at the end of three.

Oakland-Craig won the 4th quarter 22-17.

Benne led all scorers with 22 points while Chaney Nelson had 14.

Two more dominating wins for Oakland-Craig.

The Knights (13-0) are scheduled to take on BRLD (13-0) on the road in Lyons Friday night in action that is slated to be aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Wolverines won 67-43 at home over Tekamah-Herman Tuesday night.

BRLD is a great team, and this game figures to be incredible if it gets played.

It will get played at some point I'm sure, it's just a matter of when.

Both of these teams have great offenses and defenses.

The Wolverines might be a little more experienced, but Oakland-Craig a bit more athletic and explosive perhaps.

One way or another it should be an incredible game between the two teams whenever it gets played.

Hopefully it is on Friday on the Bull, but Mother Nature will do as she pleases.

I think the game might get played since Oakland and Lyons are only 7 miles apart, but it's too early to tell for sure.

A lot of it kind of depends on if school is called off for any of the three schools or not as well.

It's most important to be safe in these types of situations, but man I and many others hope these games are on as scheduled I'm sure.

Both BRLD and Oakland-Craig Boys and Girls teams are incredibly amazing, and it would be too bad if the games are postponed.

It could very well happen though based on what the Forecast is saying it's supposed to do.

We will simply have to wait and see what it does.

The players, coaches, and fans have to be ready for anything on Friday.

The area is expected to get hit fairly good so a postponement does seem like the likely thing.

Perhaps the games would be made up on Monday if they aren't played on Friday.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

As of right now, tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the Bull.
