Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys 2-1 in last three games; Girls 1-2
The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys Basketball Team lost 51-33 at North Bend Central last Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull before winning 48-31 at Stanton on Saturday and 68-42 at home over Madison Tuesday night.
The Raiders jumped out to a 15-4 at the end of one before NBC won the 2nd quarter 15-7 to make it a 22-19 game at halftime.
The Tigers outscored LVSS 14-3 in the 3rd quarter to pull in front 33-25 at the end of three.
North Bend Central outscored the Raiders 18-8 in the 4th quarter.
Riley Hoetfelker had 12 points while Garrett Kriete and Trystain Roseberry notched 8 and 7, respectively. Jayden Korman added 7 rebounds.
The Raiders got out to a 9-7 lead on the Mustangs after one, and won the 2nd quarter 11-6 to take a 20-13 lead into the locker room.
LVSS outscored Stanton 12-7 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 32-20 at the end of three.
The Raiders won the 4th quarter 16-11.
Connor Larson had 16 points and 7 rebounds while Kriete notched 15 points.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder got out to a 21-12 lead on the Dragons at the end of one, and outscored Madison 13-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 34-14 lead into the locker room.
Both teams scored 16 points in the 3rd quarter, and the score was 50-30 at the end of three in favor of LVSS.
The Raiders won the 4th quarter 18-12.
Larson notched 15 points while Garrett Palmer had 10. Roseberry chipped in 9 while Alex Meyer totaled 8 points and 7 rebounds. Kriete added 8 points.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder continues to play solid basketball.
The Raiders (9-3) host Wisner-Pilger (7-4) on Saturday.
The Gators fell 62-39 at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Tuesday night.
This is a big game for LVSS and a must win if you ask me.
This is one is big in terms of East Husker Conference Tournament seeding as well.
I think this game will go a long ways in perhaps separating the two teams for seeding if the Raiders win.
If Wisner-Pilger wins then I feel the two teams could be neck and neck heading into voting time.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is at home though, and so that should help them.
The Raiders are having a nice season, and picking that 10th win this weekend would be nice I'm sure.
LVSS has had a lot of time to prepare for the Gators although I'm guessing they weren't able to practice today due to the weather and there being no school.
I'm sure Logan View/Scribner-Snyder will have a walkthrough of some sort Saturday morning, and should be ready to go.
The Raiders have been pretty consistent this year while Wisner-Pilger has been kind of up and down.
I think this game really depends on which Gator team shows up.
Wisner-Pilger has played well at times this year, but has struggled at others.
The Gators lost to Wayne by 17 while LVSS beat the Blue Devils by 3 so I would think the Raiders would win based on that.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is at home too, and I feel that makes a big difference.
Wisner-Pilger was supposed to play tonight, but the weather forced a postponement against Howells-Dodge.
It looks like Saturday's games are a go though so that will be a very good thing for both of these teams.
I think the Raiders have a great chance to rattle off a bunch of wins prior to the EHC Tournament, and it appears LVSS has already started doing that.
The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls lost 60-14 at North Bend Central last Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull before falling 54-49 at Stanton on Saturday. The Raiders then won 41-33 at home over Madison Tuesday night.
The Tigers led the Raiders 25-6 after one, and outscored LVSS 16-5 in the 2nd quarter to take a 41-11 lead into the locker room.
NBC outscored the Raiders 13-3 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 54-14 at the end of three.
The Tigers blanked Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 6-0 in the 4th quarter.
Grace Schlueter had a team-high 7 points for the Raiders.
The Mustangs led the Raiders 22-17 after one. LVSS won the 2nd quarter 3-2 to make it a 24-20 game at halftime.
Stanton won the 3rd quarter 14-12 to extend their lead to 38-32 at the end of three.
The Raiders won the 4th quarter 17-16.
Josie Kahlandt led all scorers with 27 points and pulled down 9 rebounds while Maelee Beacom totaled 12 points.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder got out to a 9-6 lead on the Dragons after one, and won the 2nd quarter 8-6 to take a 17-12 lead into the locker room.
The Raiders outscored Madison 15-10 in the 3rd quarter to go up 32-22 at the end of three.
The Dragons won the 4th quarter 11-9.
Beacom notched 12 points and 9 rebounds while Valerie Uehling recorded 8 points. Schlueter contributed 7 rebounds.
Nice bounce back win for LVSS on Tuesday, and a good, solid effort on Saturday.
The Raiders (3-9) host Wisner-Pilger (2-10) on Saturday.
The Gators fell 58-48 at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Tuesday night.
Wisner-Pilger beat Madison 44-18 last Thursday and has played exceptional basketball their last four games.
If the Gators play the way they have their last four games they are going to be really difficult to beat.
But if Wisner-Pilger plays like they have for much of the season, including against Stanton, then this one should come down to the wire.
LVSS has to be aggressive on both ends of the floor and must take chances.
The Raiders have to be smart, but aggressive, and must play with a lot of energy in this one.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to knock down open jump shots from the perimeter and play lockdown defense as well.
The Raiders also have to score inside from the post, and play tough post defense also.
LVSS has to limit turnovers, create turnovers and get out in transition, contest shots, get to the free throw line and convert, make layups, take good shots, and most importantly be confident when shooting.
The Raiders have to see the ball go through the basket, and let made baskets spark and energize them.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to play tight, pressure defense, and must be able to handle defensive pressure.
The Raiders have to get after it in the full court or halfcourt, depending which type of defense LVSS decides to play.
The Gators were supposed to play Howells-Dodge tonight so their focus has been on the Jaguars.
Wisner-Pilger probably wasn't able to practice today so a walkthrough might be all the preparation the Gators will have and get for the game with the Raiders.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder had a couple of days to practice and get ready for Wisner-Pilger so I fully expect them to be ready to go and play a great game on Saturday.
It should be a good game between the two teams.
