The Tekamah-Herman Boys Basketball Team fell 76-53 at West Point-Beemer on Saturday before losing 69-54 at Oakland-Craig Tuesday night.
The Cadets led the Tigers 20-12 at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 19-16 to take a 39-28 lead into the locker room.
West Point-Beemer outscored Tekamah-Herman 19-11 in the 3rd quarter to increase their lead to 58-39 at the end of three.
The Cadets won the 4th quarter 18-14.
The Knights got out to a 20-9 lead on the Tigers at the end of one. Oakland-Craig won the 2nd quarter 15-13 to take a 35-22 lead into the locker room.
The Knights won the 3rd quarter 16-15 to increase their lead to 51-37 at the end of three.
Oakland-Craig won the 4th quarter 18-17.
A hard fought loss on Tuesday against the Knights.
Tekamah-Herman (4-11) plays host to Howells-Dodge (8-5) Friday night.
The Jaguars won 63-53 at Mead on Saturday.
Howells-Dodge is starting to get hot at the right time whereas the Tigers have struggled lately, losing five out of their last six.
The way Tekamah-Herman played on Tuesday though has to give them confidence and hope.
The Tigers did some nice things against Oakland-Craig and made the game respectable.
Tekamah-Herman has to build off that, and play even better on Friday against the Jaguars.
The Tigers are at home, and this is a big game for Tekamah-Herman.
The Tigers need to come out and play a good game Friday night.
Howells-Dodge has had all week to practice and prepare for Tekamah-Herman so that could be to their advantage.
The Tigers are coming off an encouraging game though so that could offset that advantage, in my opinion.
Tekamah-Herman has to come out and start strong and keep within striking distance throughout the game.
If the Tigers can keep things close they may give themselves a chance to win it in the end.
Tekamah-Herman just has to play the way they did against the Knights Tuesday night.
If the Tigers play like that again then they can definitely beat the Jaguars.
Howells-Dodge is a good team though, having made state last year so it won't be easy.
Tekamah-Herman has to come out and be ready to go full throttle for 32 minutes.
The Jaguars are very physical and defensive oriented, and the Tigers need to be tough mentally and physically themselves.
Tekamah-Herman has to crank up the intensity and play with a lot of fire, passion, pride, toughness, tenacity, and grit.
The Tigers have to outwork and outhustle Howells-Dodge.
If Tekamah-Herman does these things then they may give themselves a chance.
The Tekamah-Herman Girls lost 59-19 at West Point-Beemer on Saturday before losing 63-29 at Oakland-Craig Tuesday night, and 46-38 at home to Fort Calhoun Thursday night.
The Cadets got out to an 18-7 lead on the Tigers at the end of one, and outscored Tekamah-Herman 14-5 in the 2nd quarter to take a 32-12 lead into the locker room.
West Point-Beemer outscored the Tigers 19-5 in the 3rd quarter to go up 51-17 at the end of three.
The Cadets quadrupled up Tekamah-Herman 8-2 in the 4th quarter.
Oakland-Craig quadrupled up the Tigers 20-5 in the 1st quarter, and won the 2nd quarter 18-13 to build a 38-18 halftime advantage.
The Knights outscored Tekamah-Herman 14-2 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 52-20 at the end of three.
Oakland-Craig won the 4th quarter 11-9.
The Tigers led 13-6 at the end of one against the Pioneers. Fort Calhoun outscored Tekamah-Herman 11-7 in the 2nd quarter to cut the deficit to 20-17 at halftime.
The Pioneers won the 3rd quarter 13-10 to tie the game at 30 at the end of three.
Fort Calhoun doubled up the Tigers 16-8 in the 4th quarter.
The wheels have kind of fallen off the wagon for Tekamah-Herman so to speak.
The Tigers (9-7) host Howells-Dodge (4-10) Friday night.
The Jaguars won 50-40 at Mead on Saturday.
Howells-Dodge has picked up their play lately, and is playing good basketball right now.
The Jaguars have won three in a row while Tekamah-Herman has dropped five out of their last six so it's a battle of two teams headed in opposite directions compared to the way they were both headed at the beginning of the season.
The Tigers have to come out and play well and hard Friday night.
Tekamah-Herman has to be confident, and must turn in a great performance Friday night.
It's a quick turnaround Friday night against Howells-Dodge so the Tigers have to be ready.
The Jaguars figure to have a good, solid game plan in place and won't be easy to beat.
Tekamah-Herman has to play hard and smart and give a great all out effort Friday night.
The Tigers have to regroup and rediscover the early season success they had.
This is a game Tekamah-Herman needs to get if they can.
The Tigers hope Friday isn't much of the same as Thursday.
Tekamah-Herman has to find a way to compete hard and play well Friday night.
Fort Calhoun has played a tough schedule this year and so it's not totally surprising they won, but the loss still has to hurt.
It was a disappointing loss no doubt, but all the Tigers can do is forget about the loss and regroup.
I don't know if there's enough time for that to happen, but Tekamah-Herman needs to try and have a quick memory and forget about Thursday night's game.
The Tigers have to come out and play inspired and well against the Jaguars Friday night.
Tekamah-Herman has to play with loads of heart, determination, grit, fire, toughness, tenacity, passion, and pride.
If the Tigers do that it might be enough to win.
