Logan View-Scribner-Snyder Boys and Girls 2-1 in last three games

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys Basketball Team is 2-1 in their last three games, routing DC West 75-45 at home on Tuesday, December 19th, and winning 67-29 over Omaha Brownell-Talbot at the Brownell-Talbot Holiday Tournament on Friday. The Raiders lost 46-29 to Elmwood-Murdock in the championship game on Saturday.

The game against the Falcons was tied at 13-13 after the first quarter, and then Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outscored DC West 24-3 in the second frame, taking a 37-16 lead into the intermission.

The Raiders kept rolling in the second half, and would defeat DC West.

Ben Moxness had 26 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Raiders, with Jacob Polk not far behind at 24 points. Alex Hagerbaumer added 11 points.

LVSS led Brownell-Talbot 16-10 after one, and outscored them 16-3 in the 2nd quarter to take a 32-13 lead into the locker room.

LVSS won the 3rd quarter 19-11 to go up 51-24 at the end of three.

LVSS outscored Brownell-Talbot 16-5 in the 4th quarter.

Moxness finished with 29 points and 9 rebounds while Polk and Hagerbaumer chipped in 18 and 12, respectively. Alex VonSeggern totaled 7 rebounds.

The Knights led the Raiders 9-4 after one. Elmwood-Murdock outscored LVSS 16-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 25-10 lead into the locker room.

The Raiders won the 3rd quarter 11-8 to make it a 33-21 game at the end of three.

The Knights outscored LVSS 13-8 in the 4th quarter.

Polk led the way with 15 points while Moxness scored 7.

Tough loss for the Raiders in the championship game. Elmwood-Murdock played very good defense it appears.

LVSS (7-2) travels to North Bend to take on North Bend Central (7-1) Friday night.

The Tigers won 58-11 over Nebraska City in the consolation game of their own Holiday Tournament on Saturday.

North Bend Central is a very good team, and these two teams had a couple of great battles last year.

I look for this year to be no different.

I'm sure both teams will really get after one another and make the game great.

You know both teams will be up for this one being they're rivals of sort.

Moxness, Polk, and Hagerbaumer need to have big games for LVSS, and the Raiders have to try and contain John Emanuel, Tanner Wietfeld, Jaxon Wietfeld, James Seymour, Chase Ruzicka, and others.

The Tigers might have more scorers than the Raiders, but I would say Moxness and Polk are probably two of the better players in the area.

This should be a great and epic game, and I fully expect the gym to be packed for this one.

The atmosphere should be electric, and both teams ought to feed off the crowd.

The big thing for LVSS is to keep a level head and an even keel.

The Raiders can't let the emotions of the game get the best of them. LVSS has to keep their emotions in check.

I think this will be a great game, and feel the Raiders have a great chance to win.

It all starts with defense, and LVSS is a strong defensive team.

It won't be easy going on the road and winning, but this Raider team is veteran laden, and can definitely get the job done.

Both teams are great, and it should be a great matchup between two very good teams.

A lot of good basketball players see the floor for both teams, and that should add to the excitement and dramatics already surrounding this contest.

These two teams could very well see each other more than once this year so it will be exciting to see who wins round 1.

Both teams have lost recently so I don't totally know what to make or think about this one other than it should be a great game.

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls Basketball Team is also 2-1 in their last 3 games, downing DC West 60-35 at home on Tuesday, December 19th, losing 53-31 to Elmwood-Murdock in the 1st round of the Omaha Browell-Talbot Holiday Tournament on Friday, but beating Fort Calhoun 37-14 in Saturday's consolation game.

Against the Falcons, the Raiders erupted for 24 points in the first quarter, and shot themselves to a 38-27 halftime lead, while making six three-pointers in the first half. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder played a stellar second half defensively, including allowing zero points in the fourth quarter, and went on to beat DC West.

Ashley Peters had 14 points for the Raiders, including four three-pointers, with Kaylee Boyle scoring 12 and Valerie Uehling adding 11. Shaylin Daugherty had 9 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Morgan Morgan added 7 points.

The Knights doubled up the Raiders 16-8 in the 1st quarter. Elmwood-Murdock outscored LVSS 17-5 in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-13 lead into the locker room.

The Knights won the 3rd quarter 11-5 to extend the lead to 44-18 at the end of three.

The Raiders put up 13 points in the 4th quarter compared to 9 for Elmwood-Murdock.

Uehling had a team-high 7 points while Morgan totaled 7 rebounds.

The Pioneers got out to a 9-4 lead on LVSS at the end of one. The Raiders won the 2nd quarter 9-1 to take a 13-10 lead into the locker room.

LVSS doubled up Fort Calhoun 8-4 in the 3rd quarter to go up 21-14 at the end of three.

The Raiders blanked the Pioneers 16-0 in the 4th quarter.

Boyle had a game-high 17 points and 9 rebounds while Daugherty posted 7 rebounds.

I think LVSS has to be encouraged by the way they've played lately. Winning 2 out of your last 3 is a good sign.

The Raiders (3-6) battle North Bend Central (7-2) on the road Friday night.

The Tigers won 52-33 over Omaha Duschesne in the consolation game of the North Bend Holiday Tournament on Saturday.

North Bend Central is a very good team led by the likes of Kristin Lux, Brooke Fredrickson, Lauren Emanuel, and Kaitlynn Bjorklund.

The Tigers are going to be tough to beat, but I think LVSS can go in there and be competitive.

The Raiders are a tough team in their own right, and figure to give North Bend Central a tough game.

I don't know if LVSS will win, but I think the Raiders can be competitive against the Tigers than they have been in past years.

LVSS is playing their best basketball of the season right now, in my opinion, and has a chance to close the gap with North Bend Central I would say.

Both teams are senior and veteran laden, and that should make for a great, entertaining, and compelling ball game.

This is a tough weekend for the Raiders with a game against Stanton coming up on Saturday, but I think these games will only help LVSS in their next few games.

The Raiders have to use these games as opportunities to grow and improve, and fine tune their craft.

LVSS is an improved team, in my opinion, and I look for the Raiders to compete hard this weekend.

LVSS has to head into these games thinking they have nothing to lose.

All the pressure should be on the shoulders of the Tigers and Mustangs.

The Raiders should feel no pressure, and just be loose and relaxed.

LVSS has to get good production from Boyle, Uehling, Daugherty, and Peters.

These four have to play well for the Raiders to have a chance to win this weekend.

The Tigers aren't necessarily the best offensive team around so if LVSS can keep this one low scoring like the Twin River game they might have a shot.

You just never know what might happen. The Raiders have to be optimistic and feel confident in their abilities and chances this weekend.
