Tekamah-Herman Boys and Girls lose to BRLD and Clarkson/Leigh
The Tekamah-Herman Boys Basketball Team lost 84-31 at BRLD Friday night and 55-31 at Clarkson/Leigh on Saturday.
The Patriots jumped out to a 19-4 lead at the end of one. Clarkson/Leigh won the 2nd quarter 10-6 to take a 29-10 lead into the locker room.
Both teams scored 12 points in the 3rd quarter, and the score after 3 was 41-22 in favor of the Patriots.
Clarkson/Leigh outscored the Tigers 14-9 in the 4th quarter.
Another tough weekend for Tekamah-Herman. The Clarkson/Leigh game was a game I'm sure the Tigers really felt they could win coming in.
Tekamah-Herman (0-10) hosts Madison (3-8) Friday night.
The Dragons lost 76-46 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Tuesday night.
Madison likes to shoot 3's, and Jason Gonzalez and Keaton Hendren combined for 9 of them Tuesday night.
So the Tigers have to do a good job of defending the perimeter, and also need to attack the basket.
Both teams are about equal size wise although the Dragons could have a little more speed.
No game comes easy for Tekamah-Herman. The Tigers are the type of the team that have to scrap and claw for everything that they get.
This game is no different. Tekamah-Herman has to fight hard and dig deep, and give Madison as tough a battle as possible.
This doesn't figure to be an easy game for the Tigers at all.
The Dragons can get out and shoot, but struggle to score and stop people as a whole.
Both teams have certainly had their issues and struggles offensively and defensively, but perhaps this is the one game Tekamah-Herman will come out and play well in, and win.
On any given day a team can be beat, and I think Friday night could be the night the Tigers pick up their first win of the season.
Tekamah-Herman has to come out with a bounce and hop to their step, and has to rise up and play above the level they've been playing at all season.
Perhaps the Tigers will put things together for one game, and play well.
I fully expect Tekamah-Herman to compete in this game, and keep things somewhat respectable at least.
Any team can be beat on any given night, and that certainly applies to Madison.
The Tigers have to look at this game as an opportunity to compete and play a great game, and come away with a victory.
It certainly won't be easy for Tekamah-Herman to win, but anything is possible.
The Tigers just have to believe in themselves and find the will from within to pick up the win.
Oh man what a win would do for Tekamah-Herman right now.
The Tekamah-Herman Girls Basketball team lost 48-25 at BRLD Friday night, and 45-25 at Clarkson/Leigh on Saturday.
The Wolverines led the Tigers 16-7 after one and outscored Tekamah-Herman 10-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 26-9 lead into the locker room.
BRLD won the 3rd quarter 8-7 to go up 34-16 at the end of three.
The Wolverines outscored the Tigers 14-9 in the 4th quarter.
The Patriots jumped out to a 10-2 lead after one, and won the 2nd quarter 11-8 to lead 21-10 at halftime.
Clarkson/Leigh outscored Tekamah-Herman 12-9 in the 3rd quarter to go up 33-19 at the end of three.
The Patriots doubled up the Tigers 12-6 in the 4th quarter.
I thought Tekamah-Herman played respectable defense against both teams, but the Tigers didn't have the offense to win either game.
Tekamah-Herman (3-11) hosts Madison (3-10) Friday night.
The Dragons lost 42-29 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Tuesday night.
The Tigers beat the Raiders 47-30 so I look for Tekamah-Herman to beat Madison.
The Dragons scored their first 12 points of the game all on 3-pointers against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and really struggled to get the ball inside.
The Tigers ought to pound the rock inside to Marin Jetensky and Jadyn Fleischman.
I feel Tekamah-Herman has a matchup advantage in this one.
I look for the Tigers to play well and really get after things Friday night.
I think Tekamah-Herman will play well, and take all their frustrations of losing 3 in a row out on Madison.
I look for the Tigers to have an offensive scoring explosion in this game. I feel Tekamah-Herman will really excel on the offensive end.
I think the Tigers have a real matchup and size advantage in this one, and think it will play a big factor in the game.
Tekamah-Herman has two tough games in a row coming up so the Tigers need to get this one, and win it big.
This is one of those wins Tekamah-Herman needs to feel good about it.
The Tigers don't need to just win this one, they need to win it big.
I feel Tekamah-Herman has what it takes to win handily, the Tigers just need to come out and play well and execute the game plan.
Tekamah-Herman has to continue to play well defensively too. Slowing down Brittney Jurgens and Megan Eisenmann will be important, in my opinion.
The two combined for over half of Madison's points Tuesday night.
This is a game where the Tigers need to put things all together and turn in an outstanding performance Friday night.
Tekamah-Herman has to play with a sense of urgency and purpose. The Tigers have to attack, attack, and attack the basket, and defend the perimeter well.
