The Pender Boys Basketball Team is 0-4 in their last four games, falling 41-31 at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family last Friday night, 70-58 to Hartington Cedar Catholic in the 1st round of the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout in Wayne Thursday morning, 62-41 to Norfolk Catholic on Day 2 of the Wayne Holiday Tournament on Friday, and 58-29 to Gordon-Rushville in the 7th place game on Saturday.

I must say I am surprised by Pender's recent struggles. The Pendragons were doing so good.
Pender (4-6) battles Homer (3-7) in the 1st round of the Bob Clough Post Holiday Tournament at Wakefield Friday night.
The Knights lost 52-41 at home to Randolph Tuesday night.
I feel this game is an excellent opportunity for the Pendragons to get back on track.
I don't think what Pender showed how good they really are in the final two games of the Holiday Tournament.
I think the Pendragons played respectable against Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family and Hartington Cedar Catholic, but the Norfolk Catholic and Gordon-Rushville games were tough.
That's not to say Pender can't get back on track Friday though because I feel they definitely can.
The Pendragons just have to get back to playing the way they have for most of the season and put the recent losses behind them.
Pender has to get back to the drawing board and must keep working hard in practice.
The Pendragons are definitely capable of picking up a win or two in this post Holiday Tournament although the host Trojans figure to be tough.
It would be a big deal for Pender to make the championship and have the opportunity to play Wakefield or Emerson-Hubbard, whoever it may be.
The Pendragons just have to keep fighting, working hard, persevering, and continue to turn the corner.
Pender has done so many nice things this year, they can't let a few losses get them down.
If anything the Pendragons have to come out motivated and flat out upset given what has gone down in recent games.
Pender has to do something about their recent losses, and come out and pick up a big win Friday night.
Homer has lost to some good teams so it's not going to be easy for the Pendragons to beat the Knights whatsoever.
With that said, I feel Pender is definitely capable of winning, and think they could win a close game.
The Pendragons have to come out aggressive, and have to be very active on both ends of the floor, playing the passing lanes well on defense, and running the floor well on offense.
Game time is set for 6:15 p.m.
The Pender Girls Basketball Team is 1-3 in their last four contests, losing 57-38 at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family last Friday night, 70-43 to Hartington Cedar Catholic in the 1st round of the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout at Wayne State Thursday morning, and 46-44 to West Point-Beemer in a consolation game on Friday, before snapping their 7-game losing streak with a 51-46 win over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in the 7th place game on Saturday.
The Bulldogs led 15-8 after one before winning the 2nd quarter 9-6 to go up 24-14 at halftime.
Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family outscored the Pendragons 20-14 in the 3rd quarter to lead 44-28 at the end of three.

The Trojans led 9-8 after one. Hartington Cedar Catholic outscored Pender 21-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 30-12 lead into the locker room.
The Pendragons won the 3rd quarter 18-14 to make it a 44-30 game at the end of three.
The Trojans doubled up Pender 26-13 in the 4th quarter.
Sarah Krueger had 11 points and 9 rebounds while Morris notched 10 points. Zoey Lehmkuhl and Tymaree Krusemark registerd 8 apiece.
The Cadets got out to an 11-5 lead at the end of one. The Pendragons outscored West Point-Beemer 17-14 in the 2nd quarter to make it a 25-22 game at halftime.
Pender won the 3rd quarter 10-9 to cut the lead to 2 at 34-32 at the end of three.
Both teams scored 12 4th quarter points.
Ostrand led all scorers with 23 points while Krusemark and Lehmkuhl recorded 8 and 7 rebounds, respectively.
The Pendragons jumped on the Bears 14-6 at the end of one. Pender outscored Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 22-12 in the 2nd quarter to take a 36-18 lead into the locker room.
The Pendragons won the 3rd quarter 12-8 to go up 48-26 at the end of three.
The Bears made a furious 4th quarter rally, putting up 20 points and holding Pender to just 3.
Ostrand led the way with 17 points while Morris and Krusemark chipped in 12 and 7, respectively.
The Pendragons have played and lost to some tough teams, but credit Pender for continuing to fight and never give up. The Pendragons never threw in the towel and felt sorry for themselves, they persevered to win the game over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
Pender (4-8) battles Homer (3-7) in the 1st round of the Bob Clough Post Holiday Tournament at Wakefield Thursday night.
The Knights beat Randolph 49-44 at home Tuesday night.
Homer has struggled this year, but this figures to be a good and interesting battle as both teams have had their struggles this year.
It will be interesting to see if the Pendragons have Michaela Wegner back because she makes a world of difference for Pender.
She has been out with mono from what I understand.
The Pendragons have still continued to fight and persevere though, and have worked through and dealt with the injury to the best of their ability.
I think Pender has a great chance to win this Post Holiday Tournament.
If the Pendragons can get by the Knights I feel they have an excellent chance to win the championship on Saturday.
Pender has to come out and play with their hair on fire, and come out guns ablazin Thursday night.
The Pendragons have to have all pistons firing and must be clicking on all cylinders.
Pender has to build off the win over the Bears, and must work on finishing games better.
The Pendragons played great for 3 quarters against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, now it's a matter of playing a complete, four quarter game.
I think Pender has a great chance to win a bunch of games in the 2nd half of the season as a lot of the difficult games on their schedule are out of the way and over with.
I look for the Pendragons to flourish in January and February, and make a strong push in the East Husker Conference Tournament and in Sub-Districts.
Pender is a good team, in my opinion, and I feel their patience, hard work, and perseverance will pay off in the 2nd half of the season.
It's a new calendar year, and an opportunity for the Pendragons to play great basketball.
It all starts with the Homer game Thursday night.
Tip-off is set for 6:15 p.m.
