Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys 2-0 in last two games; Girls 1-2 in last three

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys Basketball Team defeated Howells-Dodge 57-49 in Scribner last Thursday night before defeating Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 67-35 at home in the East Husker Conference Tournament Quarterfinals Tuesday night.

The Raiders led the Jaguars 14-13 after one. Howells-Dodge outscored LVSS 19-12 in the 2nd quarter to take a 32-26 lead into the locker room.

The Raiders won the 3rd quarter 11-5 to tie the game at 37 at the end of three.

LVSS outscored the Jaguars 20-12 in the 4th quarter.

Ben Moxness led the way with 16 points while Jacob Polk had 15. Alex VonSeggern scored 11 while Nathan Taylor notched 7.

The Raiders tripled up the Bulldogs 18-6 in the 1st quarter. LVSS outscored Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 17-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 35-12 lead into the locker room.

The Raiders won the 3rd quarter 23-16 to go up 58-28 at the end of three.

LVSS won the 4th quarter 9-7.

Polk had a game-high 25 points while VonSeggern and Alex Hagerbaumer tallied 14 and 12, respectively.

Two good wins for the Raiders. LVSS was particularly good Tuesday night, in my opinion.

The Raiders (16-2) host Oakland-Craig (13-6) in the Semifinals at Logan View Friday night in a game that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Knights upended Wisner-Pilger 66-62 in Tuesday night's Quarterfinal round at Logan View.

LVSS beat Oakland-Craig 67-45 in Oakland in the season opener on November 30th.

This game figures to be closer than that one was simply due to the fact that the Knights' Garrett Seagren was out with an injury.

He makes a big difference and makes up a lot of points for Oakland-Craig.

He'll certainly be key for the Knights as will Moxness, Polk, VonSeggern, Hagerbaumer, and Taylor for the Raiders.

LVSS has to be locked in and realize that anyone can be beaten at any given time.

I think the Raiders will win, but I fully expect Oakland-Craig to give LVSS a very tough battle.

The Knights have been on short end of the stick of some close games this year while the Raiders have pretty much blown out every opponent they've beat so far this year.

LVSS has really only had one close game, that coming against West Point-Beemer.

The Raiders did enough defensively in that game to win, and I think that's what LVSS will need to do again Friday night to come away with the win again.

Both teams are great, and I fully expect a lot of intensity, tenacity, and fire from both teams in this game.

Both crowds have to be loud and proud, and make it an electric atmosphere.

This is a huge game, and the Raiders have a chance to get back to the Championship Game on Saturday and win it this time around.

The game will follow the BRLD/North Bend Central game with tip-off at 7:45 p.m. on the Bull.

The BRLD/North Bend Central game will start at 6:00 p.m., and that game can also be heard on the Bull.

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls Basketball Team is 1-2 in their last three games, falling 46-26 at home to Howells-Dodge last Thursday night, 46-34 to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament at Lyons Friday night, and beating Pender 45-35 in a consolation game of the tournament at Oakland-Craig Thursday night.

The Jaguars jumped out to a 14-2 lead on the Raiders at the end of one. LVSS won the 2nd quarter 8-7 to make it a 21-10 game at halftime in favor of Howells-Dodge.

The Raiders won the 3rd quarter 11-7 to cut the deficit to 7 at 28-21 at the end of three.

The Jaguars outscored LVSS 18-5 in the 4th quarter.

Kaylee Boyle had a team-high 12 points.

The Bulldogs led 16-9 at the end of one, and outscored the Raiders 13-7 in the 2nd quarter to take a 29-16 lead into the locker room.

HLHF won the 3rd quarter 12-9 to lead 41-25 at the end of three.

LVSS won the 4th quarter 9-5.

Boyle and Josie Kahlandt totaled 10 points apiece while Shaylin Daugherty posted 11 rebounds.

The Pendragons led 15-8 after one before the Raiders won the 2nd quarter 14-5 to take a 22-20 lead into the locker room.

LVSS won the 3rd quarter 10-7 to go up 32-27 at the end of three.

The Raiders outscored Pender 13-8 in the 4th quarter.

Boyle had a game-high 11 points while Kahlandt and Daugherty registered 9 and 8, respectively.

Great win for LVSS over the Pendragons. That had to be a feel good win for the Raiders.

LVSS (5-14) hosts Clarkson/Leigh (13-6) Tuesday night.

The Patriotswon 53-48 over Howells-Dodge in the Silver Bracket of the Tournament at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Thursday night..

I think given how the Raiders played against the Pendragons and how Clarkson/Leigh struggles against larger schools LVSS has a chance in this one.

If the Raiders can play the same type of defense they did against the Pendragons, and do enough offensively, it might be enough to pick up a win.

This game is big for both teams, but especially the Patriots if they hope to have any chance at a wildcard to state.

LVSS has shown signs of promise at times this year, and perhaps the Raiders were finally able to put things all together against Pender.

The win has to be very encouraging for the Raiders, and has to give them a boost of confidence and momentum heading into Tuesday night's game.

LVSS has to feel like they've accomplished something, yet realize there's more games to be played and more to accomplish yet.

So the Raiders should enjoy the win, but be ready to get after things in practice when the time calls for it.

LVSS has to be pleased with the win, but the Raiders can't be satisfied or complacent by any means.

A win over Clarkson/Leigh would be a huge win for LVSS, and the Raiders have to do everything in their power to make it happen.

I don't think there's any doubt that defense is the key in this game. A game in the 30's favors the Patriots, in my opinion, but I think a game in the 40's or higher favors LVSS.

I think this game is going to be tight and close.

As long as the Raiders aren't still hungover from the win over the Pendragons they should be fine.

I feel LVSS has a big opportunity in this game so we'll see if the Raiders can make the most of it.
